15.01.2022 -How to stop a dripping tap... 1. Shut down the mains water supply 2. Remove handles and flanges from hot & cold taps 3. Remove hot & cold spindles 4. Remove any jumper washers or red fiber washers left ... after spindles have been removed. 5. Remove bonnet from spindle to expose spindle threads and rubber washers 6. Remove old rubber washers and replace with new ones. 7. Using a tap grease, re lubricate rubber washers and spindle threads 8. Re Screw spindle into bonnet and replace old perished red fiber washers and jumper valves with new ones. 9. With the use of a re-seating tool, (hand held ones can be purchased from local hardware store) cut back any pits or scratches located on brass seat. 10. Re-install spindles with new washers and jumper valves. 11. Using the tap grease lubricate the threads on the flanges to make future work on taps easier. 12. Re-install flanges, hot & cold handles and remove aerator from outlet ready for flushing out. 13. Turn water mains back on and flush water through both hot and cold taps until running clear. 14. Re-install aerator and test for drips. See more

02.01.2022 With winter now upon us, the gas heaters are firing back up. Over summer, the rubber O ring in our gas bayonet point has the potential to dry out and crack, causing a small gas leak when our heaters are connected. A simple step to help reduce the chance of a gas leak is to lubricate the rubber O ring with a bit of grease or even some house hold cooking oil. Remember, if you are unsure, please engage a licenced gas fitter (Hulshoff Plumbing & Gas) to test your gas line. Lets all stay safe this winter.
