19.01.2022 The Cancer Council's Daffodil Day is today and a large amount of money received goes towards outdated animal based research. In 2016, together with the Cancer Council’s research partners, over $65 million was invested in cancer research. Whilst the Cancer Council does not undertake in house animal research, it does provide funds for animal research. So if donating on Daffodil Day encourage the Cancer Council to use your donation towards human-biology based research and not animal experiments. However if you want to be sure your donation will definitely will not be used to promote animal research you may care to donate to the cancer charities listed on our Humane Charities website or app. To view the listing please visit www.humanecharities.org.au or download the Humane Charities smartphone app.

18.01.2022 A lot of what we do is driven by habit, and these can be difficult to change, however there are small steps you can take to become healthier, both mentally and ...physically: - Identify less healthy habits and learn new, positive ones to replace them - Start slow. Try changing one thing at a time - Be flexible. For example, if you decide to cut down on sugar, do it gradually over a few weeks rather than all at once - Keep it interesting. If you go for a walk, why not try different paths or a different place? For more tips on healthy living, check out this Fact Sheet: https://bit.ly/31VySK7

15.01.2022 More than 80 athletes have donated their brains after death to the Australian Sports Brain Bank. This is the true way to study tramatic brain injury in sports people as opposed to unreliable experiments carried out on rats and mice in weight drop experiments at various Australian universities.

13.01.2022 Buddy is a medical experimentation survivor. Scientists used his body for 8 years. I don't know what was done to him. Most people don't. He is one of the very f...ew who have made it out alive. Today I had the pleasure of joining him and his forever mum for a puppuccino. Buddy's life is now full of love and kindness along with dog friendly pub visits and a weekly treat he chooses himself from the store. Buddy is another life saved as a result of the Animal Justice Party’s Right to Release campaign to get animals out of medical experimentation facilities. Remember, if you donate to a medical charity you could be funding tests on animals like Buddy. Check the Humane Charities list to ensure you aren't funding animal research: http://www.humanecharities.org.au/

08.01.2022 It's normal and appropriate if you’re feeling anxious or worried during this strange time. Stress is a natural and adaptive response to the unstable nature of the COVID-19 outbreak and the challenges it brings. However, it’s important to be aware of our stress response so that we don't let it overwhelm us. Even short moments of finding our internal calm will be beneficial to our mental health and wellbeing. For more on how to create a mindset that feels safe to tap into whenever you're feeling overwhelmed, head to bb.org.au/324ZCrh
