The research draws on surveys and interviews with households in #Busuanga in the #Philippines to show the important role local governments and vocational schools have in supporting safer housing recovery. 12.01.2022 We're excited to be welcoming Arvin Hadlos to our lab next year as a PhD student! His research will focus on strategies to support housing self-recovery after disasters. He joins us from the University of the Philippines where he is completing his masters degree. Check out this awesome summary of his master's research which looked at the impact of participation on household satisfaction in post-disaster resettlement efforts!

11.01.2022 Check our new open access article published in the International Journal for Disaster Risk Reduction! We gathered humanitarian shelter and settlements practitioners to ask them where research was needed. In collaboration with colleagues at the Global Projects and Organizations research group at the University of Colorado Boulder, we identified and ranked 96 areas where better evidence is needed to support sheltering and housing after disaster and conflict.
