25.01.2022 Jesbi was part of the Malak School community in 2017 and 2018 where she provided individual support in the preschool. She has since moved into a different career path but on her last day let us know that we were "hands down the best school she has worked at!" We wish you all the best for your future endeavours, Jesbi and thank you for the energy and passion you brought with you each time you visited.
17.01.2022 Check out the video from Selena Uibo: Member for Arnhem (Minister for Education and Minister for Workforce Training.) We appreciate you sharing your memories of Malak School (1995-1997).
11.01.2022 Hello, my name is Zoe Anderson. I moved to Darwin with my parents in 1997. The first school I attended in Darwin was Malak Primary School, where I completed year 7. I made wonderful, lifelong friends and have very fond memories of my time at Malak PS. I loved it so much that now my 3 children attend Malak Primary School.
08.01.2022 Jare Krnjic We did a 25th Birthday time capsule in 2006 at Malak School and I’d love to know where it is these days! One of my favourite memories of Malak School is soccer! In 2006, soccer was a big thing. The FIFA World Cup was on and I remember Australia beating Japan. Malak School put in soccer goals and we played so much soccer! It was great!... I still have buddies from Malak that I hang out with. It’s been good to keep connections with Malak School. My sister is still there as a student. I came back to Malak as a staff member to work in the CommAut Program in 2016. There were still a few familiar teacher faces around! Including Ms Maloney and Ms McCarthy. I’m not working directly at Malak School now but get to work with the teachers and students every now and then!

07.01.2022 Malak School Hello! My name is Nishadya Kapuduwa and Im an International Student currently studying my Bachelor of Education at Charles Darwin University. My 2nd of 3 placements was in Year 3/4 McNair under the mentorship of Mrs. Michaela McNair at Malak Primary School. From the beginning of my practicum, I observed cooperative and respectful behavior from both children and staff. In my appointed class I had a lovely group of students. After discussing with my mentor teacher... my practicum requirements, I chose Science as my focus lesson to program and explicitly teach. In my 3rd week my first lesson was done well. I thought, Ill be fine here! Next, the second lesson began, and my lesson did not go as easy I thought it might. I was so disappointed, but, my mentor teacher was there to help me. She advised me, This is not worlds end Nish. The challenge is building relationships, getting to know the students and how they learn and managing behaviour, so that students have the opportunity to learn. We can teach the content, but if we are unable to make those relationships and manage a class then the content taught is lost. That is the most important advice I ever received in my life as a pre-service teacher. She mentored me about 5Ls, Learning Intentions, Success Criteria, as well as modelling and scaffolding for students. So, I engaged my 3rd lesson with the feedback I had received. I was so happy and pleased with myself when the lesson went well. On the other hand, if Mrs. McNair has not supported me in the way that she had, I would not be able to understand my potential. She is truly cared about me during every minute in my placement. When I had a question, she willingly provided an opportunity to answer me. At the end of my practicum I gained the confidence to teach a whole class, work in small groups and building positive relationships with my students. I am sharing my experience at Malak Primary School is not only for just teaching the curriculum. They give opportunities for their students to grasp good qualities for life. Finally, I had a great time at Malak Primary school. It is a great pleasure for me to work with Malak Primary School staff, students and families. I would like to express my gratitude towards Mrs. Lorraine Evans and Mrs. Mina McCarthy for their support, guidance and warmth during my time spent at the school. I am blessed and thankful to meet the Malak Primary School family in my life. It's my wish to meet them again in my professional life. Nishadya Kapuduwa. CDU-PST 13.06.2018
03.01.2022 Dylan DosSantos-McNeven attended Malak School from Preschool to Year 6, 2003-2010. From kicking the soccer ball around at school to playing for the NT side in the 2015 Singapore Cup in Singapore and playing for the NT side in the 2015 Liberian Cup in Brisbane. Way to go, Dylan!!!
01.01.2022 I was at the school when it was dirt and there was nothing here - maybe in the 1980s. All my brothers and sisters came here. My kids and my sisters kids came here. I always loved this school and the family connections as well. I loved the house McGinness and the pride of representing my own family which has links with McGinness. I am really looking forward to reconnecting and working with Malak School families and children and staff. Kay Villaflor
