25.01.2022 Anti corruption journalist Shane Dowling Kangaroo Court of Australia has been ordered to pay Capilano Ltd $25,000 for his role in the imported honey scandal. T...he Supreme Court has upheld Capilano’s defamation case against Australian independent journalist Shane Dowling. I spoke to Shane who was positive about the result, declaring Justice Button (without a jury) made a predictable judgement. He was jubilant that the information Capilano were attempting to suppress is now permanently available on the public record via the Judgment: https://www.caselaw.nsw.gov.au/dec/17856f2dc4863fcc722975c7 Shane believes the Judgement illustrates clear corruption in the judicial system and he plans to write a book about his experiences during the trial. Shane’s articles about the dangers of imported honey have been viewed millions of times and since its case against him commenced, Capilano’s controversial Allowrie honey was removed from supermarket shelves. During this time Capilano Ltd sold out to a largely foreign owned financial conglomerate and changed its name to Hive and Wellness Australia. https://www.google.com.au//coles-takes-capilano-honey-s-im Shane explained that the $25,000 damages order was insignificant in comparison to the millions of dollars Capilano spent bringing the defamation in the Supreme Court in an attempt to silence independent journalism (Capilano was an ASX listed corporation when it brought the litigation that subsequently delisted when it was bought out and became Hive & Wellness) Defamation proceedings that threaten bankruptcy and imprisonment are possibly no longer a weapon for large corporations to use against independent journalists. Lawyers might begin to realise SLAPP Lawsuits that threaten or use litigation to silence public debate or activism are impotent due to the Streisand effect - a social phenomenon that occurs when an attempt to hide, remove, or censor information has the unintended consequence of causing the further publication of that information on the internet. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect Shane Dowling is a challenging journalist because he forces us to question institutions and authority figures who are not used to having their position challenged. Eg. he was the first to go public with the allegations against Australia’s highest legal figure Attorney General Christian Porter. https://kangaroocourtofaustralia.com//attorney-general-ch/ Shane warns Australians of the real danger of being sucked into the mainstream media narrative and urges people to support independent journalism by simply signing up to his newsletter here. https://mailchi.mp//kangaroo-court-of-australia-sign-up-li

18.01.2022 David Jones you’re bee okay display is not okay because your using chemically preserved imported flowers. We need to support Australian florists. Australia has... over 1500 indigenous bees and mostly a healthy honeybee population that survival depends on Australian flowers. #Davidjones please contact Flower Industry Australia Ltd and find out how you can support Australian #florists. flowerindustryaustralia Thank you for tagging us @savethebeesaustralia Its an important issue. Our industry has many slow/micro growers who specialise in bee health. @davidjonesstore Feel welcome to contact us next time. Flower Growers are always generous and have donated and assisted the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show for 25 years. FIA and our members would feel honoured to support your Flower Show. It's a marvellous tradition and to use Australian grown flowers would be wonderful because Australian flower growers have suffered from the volume of imported flowers arriving in Australia. Sadly according to the Dept of Agriculture (Quarantine) imported cut flowers are one of the highest risk pathways for invasive pests and pathogens. As a community we must urge the government to ensure all imported flowers are lovely and clean!

16.01.2022 This beekeeper is using bee venom as a antidote to #athritis . Beekeepers have the lowest incidence of cancer of all the occupations worldwide. This fact was a...cknowledged in the annual report of the New York Cancer Research Institute in 1965. Almost half a century ago, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Vol. 9(2), Oct., 1948, published a report by William Robinson, M.D., et al., in which it was claimed that bee pollen added to food (in the ratio of 1 part to 10,000) prevented or delayed the appearance of malignant mammary tumour. L.J. Hayes, M.D had the courage to announce, Bees sterilise pollen by means of a glandular secretion antagonistic to tumours. Other doctors, including Sigmund Schmidt, M.D., and Ernesto Contreras, M.D., seem to agree that something in pollen works against cancer. Dr W. Schweisheimer also said that scientists at the Berlin Cancer Institute in Germany had never encountered a beekeeper with cancer. A French study concerning the cause of death of 1,000 beekeepers included only case of a beekeeper that died of cancer. The incidence of cancer-caused deaths in a group of French farmers was 100 times higher than the group of beekeepers. Till date, no study has faulted the fact that beekeepers have very low, almost negligible incidence of cancer worldwide. Due to the weight of this fact and coupled with his experience, John Anderson, Professor of beekeeping, University of Aberdeen, unequivocally declared: Keep bees and eat honey if you want to live long. Beekeepers live longer than anyone else. This was before bees and beekeepers were exposed to pesticides like #glyphosate. #savethebees #beethecure See more

10.01.2022 Did you know one fruit fly can lay 500 eggs at a time on the fruit in your kitchen? Reuse wine corks in your fruit bowl. They absorb moisture from the ripening fruit and put off a fragrance that repel the pesky bugs.

10.01.2022 The term ‘Honeymoon’ was coined to refer to the sweetness of a new marriage. According to Norse legend, a man abducted his bride from a neighboring village. He was then required to take her into hiding until the bride's family abandoned their search. His whereabouts were known only to the best man. While in seclusion, the couple drank mead, a honeyed wine.

08.01.2022 TOWNSVILLE: Have you heard of varroa mite? The varroa mite is a tiny parasite that attaches itself to honey bees and honey bee brood, weakening the bees and pot...entially, wiping out entire colonies. We’re currently responding to an incursion of varroa mites found on a nest of feral Asian honey bees at the Townsville port in April 2020. If you’re in the Townsville area, you can help ensure Australia maintains its status as the only populated country in the world to be free of varroa mite by reporting any suspect Asian honey bees to Biosecurity Queensland on 13 25 23. 08.01.2022 Did you know? Over 65% of Australian Agriculture and Horticulture is dependent on pollination by managed honey bee colonies. In order to maintain strong and h...ealthy honey bees for pollination, we require continuation of access to healthy native forest habitats. Our immediate future is under threat due to exclusion clauses in State Legislation prohibiting beekeepers from accessing National Park apiary sites, previously tenured under State Forestry land prior to their conversion into protected area estate. The Queensland beekeeping industry has been working for 20 years to resolve this exclusion clause and to date the industry has no surety on the continuation of access to Queensland National Park Apiary sites post 31 December 2024. Investment in our industry has now stalled until this matter can be resolved. This issue of access will ultimately jeopardise the production capacity of the 65% of Australian crops, dependent on strong, healthy honey bees for pollination and the employment opportunities and future jobs within the Ag sector. It must be stated that Beekeepers are the ultimate conservationists and the unrecognised contributors to producing the food on our plates. It has always been and remains in our best interests to protect, preserve and promote the health of habitats in our native forests for the future of our industry and the future for all Australians. In the coming weeks, leading up to the State Election, we’re calling on all Queenslanders to question their local state election candidates on what their plans are to resolve the access exclusion clauses for the beekeeping industry. Too many times our industry has been issued promises and verbal assurances our team will get the job done in an attempt or gesture to resolve this matter for the beekeeping industry, only for any progress on the issue to be held up by other more important priorities in Queensland. We’re actively seeking commitments from the major political parties in Queensland on the matter, sadly we are yet to receive any written commitments on the matter. What’s important to remember, is at the forefront of this matter, is the livelihood of generations of beekeeping families. Salt of the earth people, who go about the rigours of their daily work routines providing care for their much loved colonies and are somewhat blessed to work in the beauty of our stunning natural environment. They’re a quiet bunch of people, but are immensely proud of their continued contributions to producing world class honey and playing their part in helping our farming friends feed Australia’s growing population. We’ve included a link from our friends at Agrifutures below, it covers the crucial role our Australian honey bee industry plays in the fabric of Australian agriculture. Be certain to have a quick read make a point of asking your local candidates about their plans to resolve this persistent issue that continues to hang a dark and uncertain cloud over the future of our beekeeping families and the industry they proudly represent. Our honey bees and their beekeepers need your support, now more than ever. Please share this post to send a message to Queensland’s election candidates. Enough is enough. It’s time they take action to secure everyone’s right to world class honey and healthy Australian and Queensland grown produce. We are calling on everyday Queenslanders to help us to create a real, secure and sustainable future for our hard working beekeepers and their beautiful bees. We’re calling on the power of the people to raise awareness of this issue. You’re support on this issue will bring hope for a brighter and future for each and every one of us. #healthybeesneedhealthytrees #qldhoneybees #qbabees #queenslandbeekeeping #australianhoneybees #beesneedtrees #australianhoney #qldhoney #queenslandhoneybees

06.01.2022 The cutest beekeeper you'll ever see

04.01.2022 Bee Swarms!!! Swarming is one of the most spectacular sight and sound experiences I have ever witnessed. Anyone who knows me, knows my love for the Bees. ... If you see a swarm or one arrives to your area, please do not be particularly alarmed. Firstly, be amazed and delighted to witness this!! Do not call the exterminator, or try to eradicate them yourself. Look up your local Beekeeping Club or Association and give them a call for advice. The Queensland Beekeeping Association contact number for Swarms is 13 25 23 They are most helpful! Most Beekeepers will be very happy to catch the swarm for you. As the weather here is unseasonally warm bees will be swarming earlier than usual. ( September to late December is swarming season ) Swarms are mostly docile, as they are not protecting their Colony or Hive containing 'Brood and Food '. It is usual for a few Scout Bees to be out looking for a new suitable place to settle. The rest of the Bees will be protecting their Queen who will usually be in the center of the swarm. Bring me a swarm!!!!!!

03.01.2022 ‘I do not see me in you...you in me. I see no resemblance. When I look at the braid of my hair. Or the crease of my brow. We do not share the same tastes.... Nor do we speak with the same voice. We do not even worship in the same way... I do not see me in you... Not like this. And then we stand together here, face to face... We grasp hands. We bow heads. And then, with closed eyes, and open hearts, we see... You are me. I am you... With love and honor, And a deep-set smile. Separately ... together... we shall be.’ Namasté Kathleen (image via natgeo)
