08.01.2022 I've put this up before and it deserves a mention now more than anything. Good work ain't cheap and cheap work isn't good. Instead of asking for a discount or for a cheaper price for investment pieces like photography and videography and planners, instead consider making sacrifices somewhere else - like swapping roses for carnations or look at simple party favours (like bubble wands from Kmart - 25 cents a piece!). ... Business owners - discounting your services or lowballing them to make them ridiculously cheap hurts the wedding industry, making it a race to the bottom for everyone else and costs us money. Brides and grooms - asking people to discount their services, now more than anything - just don't do it. You wouldn't ask Mac to give a better price on lipstick? You wouldn't ask woolies to give you a discount on your groceries, or your local butcher, so why your wedding, one of the most important days of your life?
