24.01.2022 Latest Update from the Hume & Hovell Ultra Well, it finally happened. The Hume & Hovell Track where we hold the 100 mile, 100 km, 50 km & 22 km races has been closed because of the fire damage and we will not be able to hold the event on that section of track this year in October 2020. We are devastated about the decision made by the Department of Primary Industry/Lands but the safety of the runners, support crews, family, friends and volunteers are our priority. In saying al...l that, we hope to find another spot on the Hume & Hovell Track to run a similar event. We will make an announcement early next week after we go through the logistics. Thank you all for your patience. Peter and the Committee See more
20.01.2022 UP DATE ON CONDITION OF THE HUME & HOVELL TRACK Still can not get a vehicle onto the main part of the track. So on Thursday 27 th the powers that be are going to hover over the track to access the track and see if it can be repaired in time for the H&H Ultra in October. Please don't count it out until next weekend when we put up another post as to whether it is safe to hold the event. Runners safety is our main priority! Please be patient as it is totally out of our hands and Department of Industry, Lands, Forestry Corporation and National Parks & Wildlife are in control. Thanks. Peter and the Committee.

The following areas remain closed: - Woomargama National Park (excluding Tin Mines Campsite) - Henry Angel Trackhead through to Blowering campsite (including Junction Campsite, Paddys River Dam, Buddong Hut, Buddong Picnic Area) - A short section of Bogandyera nature reserve near Mannus Please do not try to access closed areas of the track. 11.01.2022 CONDITION OF THE HUME & HOVELL ULTRA TRACK Track authorities have started evaluating the damage to our section of the running track. 11.01.2022 VOLUNTEERS WE NEED YOU !! Tumbarumba BlazeAid co-ordinators Rob, Garry and team have just received 65 property registrations that have been severely damaged by ...the recent fires. We know there are many more impacted properties and families out there who are either too proud, too busy looking after their animals or have not been able to contact us due to poor telecommunications .If you can spare a couple of days, a week or more to lend a hand I guarantee you will meet absolutely amazing truly grateful farmers producing our food and fibre. If you can come to TUMBARUMBA BlazeAid Camp you will be able to choose the work you prefer, receive three meals a day and experience life in a warm, friendly country town. Come on, have a crack, there are some Aussies out there that really need a hand. See more

04.01.2022 HUME & HOVELL ULTRA 2020 UPDATE WE HAVE TRIED. Since the fires, we have been working on a new section of the Hume & Hovell track near Wee Jasper to hold the 2020 Hume & Hovell Ultra due to the 2019 course being totally destroyed by the fires.... We have received great support from the committee and all the authorities involved to hold the new event in that area. BUT SADLY, THE CORONAVIRUS HAS PUT A STOP TO ANY NEW PLANS AND THE EVENT IS DEFINITELY CANCELLED AND WE WILL SEE YOU ON THE 9 TH & 10 TH OCTOBER 2021 HOPEFULLY IN TUMBARUMBA.. Peter FitzPatrick Race Director
