22.01.2022 Merry Christmas and thank you for all your support during 2019! Hume residents deserve the best, in 2020 we will continue to make sure your voice is heard by the State and Federal Government and that Hume gets its fair share of investment.
21.01.2022 Big win for our community! Together with our residents, we’ve advocated for more schools for a number of years, so it's pleasing to hear that construction for Greenvale Secondary School and new Kalkallo Common Primary School will start soon.
19.01.2022 Participation in BMX has been rapidly growing in popularly, particularly in Hume City. That's why it was great to officially open the Sunbury Skate, Scooter and BMX Park pavilion yesterday! Thanks to the Victorian Government and Josh Bull MP for Sunbury for their support in helping to deliver this new facility which will support the club into the future.
18.01.2022 Don't forget to have your say on designs for the new Greenvale Secondary College and Kalkallo Common Primary School!
17.01.2022 This week we met with Swinburne University's School of Architecture students who embraced the challenge to rethink Broadmeadows Train Station, creating exciting new possibilities for the station precinct and the suburb. We hope this will encourage the State Government to invest in our vision for the Broadmeadows our community deserves.
15.01.2022 Victorians ranked Broadmeadows Train Station the train station in RACV's On Track Survey. Despite minor upgrade works over the last few years, the train station ranked even lower than the results of the previous survey, supporting our call for the fact that the station needs a full redevelopment. www.racv.com.au/on-the-road/public-transport/on-track.html
15.01.2022 Find out more about the Victorian Government's Suburban Revitalisation Program, which is seeking nominations from businesses and non-government organisations interested in joining the Broadmeadows Revitalisation Board. Nominations close Tuesday 17 March 2020. Metropolitan Partnerships
14.01.2022 Hume City Council continues to advocate for the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum. Show your support for refugees and people seeking asylum by signing the Back Your Neighbour petition at backyourneighbour.com.au/petition #BackYourNeighbour #RefugeeWeek #NobodyLeftBehind
13.01.2022 There are many great things along the Upfield railway line, including coffee. The railway line itself unfortunately doesn't make the list. That’s why we met with the Upfield Transport Alliance recently to discuss how Hume City Council can support their campaign for the duplication of the Upfield Line. Watch this space, with more to come in 2020!
07.01.2022 Happy new year! Growing communities like Hume need a road network free of congestion, a reliable public transport network, access to health care services that can meet the growing demand as well as schools and early childhood services, particularly in newly established communities. Join us as we advocate for these important services and infrastructure in 2020!
03.01.2022 This afternoon I visited Cr Carly Moore, Mayor Hume City Council. Together, we signed a memorandum of understanding to get on and deliver hundreds of new car p...arking spaces for Sunbury. The MoU will see the Department of Transport and Hume City Council both co-contribute funding toward detailed design, development and costing of the joint project, to deliver the multilevel car park as promised. The site being considered for the new multi-level car park is to the south-east of the station, near the corner of Station and Evans streets. The new car park will feature accessible parking, secure storage facilities for cyclists and better access for pedestrians. Safety and security will also be key considerations in the design and delivery of the project. As soon as the designs are complete, I’ll share them with you and we can then get on with building this important project. I’m looking forward to seeing this precinct when the extra parking is in, and the level crossing is out!
03.01.2022 As part of our plan to revitalise Broadmeadows, today we're celebrating the opening of the revamped Broadmeadows Town Park! Join us at 6pm and enjoy the outdoor cinema (Happy Feet) and live music, courtesy of Hume Events. Thank you to the Victorian Government for their contribution to the park's redevelopment.
