22.01.2022 A lot of people have been asking us for advice on wearing masks. Heres some of your questions answered. Should I wear a mask? Face masks are being recommen...ded in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, due to the higher number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases currently occurring. Wearing a face mask provides an additional physical barrier to coronavirus (COVID-19), helping to reduce community transmission. If you dont live in the restricted areas, our advice remains the same, using a mask is not required. When should I wear a mask? Its a good idea to wear a mask when visiting busy areas like shopping centres, public transport or markets and other areas where it would be difficult to keep 1.5 metres apart from others. Where can I get masks? You can purchase cloth masks or surgical masks from retail outlets including chemists, hardware stores and other shops or you can follow our directions to make your own cloth mask. 14.01.2022 Be sure to mask up whenever you leave your home Face coverings help to keep you and others safe from coronavirus - but as we all adjust to the new reality of ...mandatory masks there are some common do's and don'ts to keep in mind: Do wash your hands before touching your mask to put it on. Do cover your nose, mouth and chin and make sure there are no gaps on the sides. Do avoid touching your mask while you're wearing it. Do remove your mask by the straps and store it in a clean plastic resealable bag. Do wash your mask after wearing it in hot soapy water if it's reusable, or place it in your garbage bin if it's disposable. Don't risk a $200 fine - if you can't buy or make a mask you can use a scarf or bandana to cover your nose, mouth and chin. Don't use a ripped, damp or dirty mask. Don't wear a loose mask or wear it incorrectly - it must cover your nose, mouth and chin to keep you safe. Don't remove your mask to talk to someone or do other things that would require touching the front of the mask. Don't dispose of your mask in the recycling bin or by littering - please place it in your garbage bin.
