09.01.2022 HUME EQUINE CENTRE - COVID-19 INFORMATION 24th March 2020 Dear Valued Client,... The health and wellbeing of our veterinarians, staff and clients is of utmost importance. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we are raising the level of our healthy practice procedure, effective immediately. In order to reduce the potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 during visits by clients to the Hume Equine Centre and on farm calls we ask that clients adhere to the following procedures. FARM CALLS If you are currently experiencing any of the symptoms listed below, or if you have undergone testing for COVID-19 then arrangements will need to be made for an unaffected person to be available to assist with the treatment of your horse. CLINIC VISITS We require all clients to report to reception on arrival and before unloading your horse and to perform sanitisation using the provided alcohol based hand sanitiser. All clients should perform hand sanitisation when leaving the clinic. Please do not be offended, but our staff have been instructed to follow a no-hand-shake policy with clients and visitors to the clinic as well as with each other. We request the number of individuals attending an appointment be limited to one owner or handler per horse. We will ensure that our practice ambulatory vehicles and equipment are cleaned using appropriate disinfectants for COVID-19. We will focus our cleaning efforts on door and stall handles , shared practice equipment and other frequently touched surfaces. We request that if you are unwell and, in particular, if you have the following symptoms Fever - a temperature of 37.5 celsius or higher Cough and / or sore throat Shortness of breath Or if you have travelled to an area of active COVID-19 transmission within the previous 2 weeks or have been in contact with another person diagnosed with COVID-19 infection That you do not enter our clinic or be present during on farm visits. Please arrange for another person without these symptoms to bring your horse into our clinic or to be present during farm visits. It may be possible to conduct telemedicine ( video or photo ) rechecks for patients. We look forward to being able to assist you with the care of your horses & ponies during these difficult times. Best wishes, Bob & the Team at Hume Equine Centre
