25.01.2022 A great effort from Albo - an leader with a genuine vision for Australia.

25.01.2022 This is outrageous ...the Nationals porkbarrelling knows no bounds ... and one on the drawing board for Young, where Wendy Tuckerman remains a Councillor on Hilltops Council. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//nationals-hit-jackpot-wi

24.01.2022 If you know a local community group or organisation looking to complete bushfire recovery projects in your area, we are now accepting applications for the Vinni...es Canberra/Goulburn Community Bushfire Grant Program. Helping communities on the journey to recovery, 70 grants of up to $20,000 are available for organisations in bushfire-affected areas, providing funding for recovery projects that benefit the local community. The Black Summer bushfires affected each community differently, and local residents know their own needs better than anyone. That’s why we’re partnering with local organisations, as well as placing experienced workers in the hardest-hit communities so they can develop locally-tailored recovery projects. Find out more and apply at www.vinnies.org.au/bushfiregrantscg

22.01.2022 Extinction Rebellion action in front of Angus Taylors office in Goulburn right now

22.01.2022 We are very saddened to hear of Ben’s passing. He was a Labor stalwart, working on every campaign since the 1980s. Our deepest condolences to Lyn and the family . A lovely man, husband, father ,Morfar , friend and work colleague to so many. ... The man you could always trust with the explosives. Rest In Peace Comrade.

21.01.2022 Friends of the Earth has criticised the Scott Morrison (ScoMo) govt's 'Technology Roadmap' for failing to accelerate the rollout of renewables and deliver the e...missions cuts needed to help keep global warming below 1.5C: The horror bushfires over summer and wildfires now burning in the United States show what’s in store if govt's fail to tackle the climate crisis, said Cam Walker. Instead of accepting this reality and acting decisively to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, Minister Angus Taylor MP is seeking to entrench polluting fossil fuel technology. Angus Taylor’s ‘Technology Roadmap’ will lead the country towards catastrophic climate impacts. FULL RESPONSE > foe.org.au/technology_roadmap

20.01.2022 Still feelin it

20.01.2022 We can’t let Scott Morrison cancel JobKeeper too early too many Australians rely on it to make ends meet.

17.01.2022 I got a bit fired up in Parliament. But this just makes me furious. In December last year, the Government announced a $200 million bushfire recovery fund. Almos...t a year later and not a single cent has been spent. When Kristy McBain asked Scott Morrison why, she was told that the fund wasn't required. People in bushfire communities are still living in vans, but their government is telling them that they no longer need the help they were promised. This is everything that's wrong with the Morrison Government. They're always there for the photo op and never there for the follow up.

17.01.2022 The Palace Papers have it there in black and white. Our unelected head of state advised the Governor-General on how to remove our elected Prime Minister and never once told Gough Whitlam what was being planned.

17.01.2022 Scott Morrison wants people who’ve lost work to live on just $40 a day. That won’t help them get a job. It’ll force them into poverty. Labor wants a permanent increase to JobSeeker payments, so Australians who are out of work can live with dignity.

17.01.2022 Now that this campaign is almost over, I want to take you back to where things started for me. This photo was taken exactly six months ago at the Bermagui Count...ry Club. 1500 people had just been evacuated after the town was hit by the worst bushfires in our history. These were people I knew and people I wanted to protect. People affected by the bushfires showed so much courage that day. Over the last six weeks, I’ve encountered that courage everywhere I go. Six months on and there is still so much left to do. We need to get people back into their homes. We need to get our communities back to work. And we need to get businesses back on their feet. I’m asking for your support as we rebuild. I’m asking for your support so I can be your voice. And I won’t let you down.

17.01.2022 Have you signed this petition? Time is running out!

16.01.2022 We are preparing for our National Day Of Action happening next Tuesday July 14!! Supporters will be taking action in many different ways, including contacting p...olitical leaders. Many people will be using canned food as a symbol of how hard it is to get by and to eat regular, fresh, nutritious meals, on the old Newstart rate of $40 a day. You might like to post a photo to Facebook and Twitter of canned food, sharing your experiences and views. If you do, remember to use #RaisetheRateforGood. On Facebook, tag @RaisetheRate and @AustralianCouncilofSocialService. On Twitter tag @ACOSS. There will be other creative events and projects being organised. For more info, follow this Facebook page or contact Raise the Rate for Good community organiser Pas Forgione at [email protected] or on 0444 590 297. Anyone participating in the National Day of Action, of course, should always regularly check the latest local health alerts, wherever they are, to ensure they comply with physical-distancing and other requirements. 16.01.2022 Read this and weep ... even Canberra’s highest paid public servants are feeling the pain .

16.01.2022 Next week, Angus Taylor will face a reckoning. He’s going to try and convince Australian Senators to force the biggest, public clean energy funds to bankroll fo...ssil fuel projects but in politics, deals are built on trust. Can you trust Angus Taylor? Last week, it was revealed that Taylor’s office knowingly used incorrect data to attack progressive Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore on her climate record. He has ignored advice from government advisors on renewable energy, and he has been caught out not reporting gifts and donations on his Parliamentary register of interests. Last year, Taylor was embroiled in a water buy-back scandal, when a company he helped to establish profited almost $80 million from an overpriced government contract. Another company that Taylor part-owned illegally poisoned critically endangered grasslands in 2016. As Minister responsible for emissions reductions, Taylor refuses to take any action that might threaten the profits of his mates in the fossil fuel industry. His emissions target is built on dishonest bookkeeping and would reduce emissions by just 16%, while the UK, South Korea, Japan, and China have all announced ambitious targets to become leaders in clean energy. Next week, it’s another ploy: this time, to force the Clean Energy Finance Corporation to blow their budget on junk science for the gas industry. This is the choice our Senators will make next week a choice between a minister plagued by scandal only looking out for the fossil fuel lobby, and a secure future that keeps up with the rest of the world.

14.01.2022 Angus Taylor Take note!

14.01.2022 Qantas have a legal and moral responsibility to pay workers their penalties, but it used tricky legal manoeuvres to dodge that responsibility." QANTAS has completely trashed its social contract with the Australian public.

13.01.2022 SANDRA'S STORY "I used some of the supplement to finely get my eyes tested due to my diabetes. My Doctor had mentioned this on several occasions but when you ar...e on an allowance money's tight. I knew I needed glasses but couldn't afford them, buying cheapies from Cheap as Chips. I didn't have an issue with my Diabetes, however, I had Glaucoma. Had I not had this extra money, I wouldn't have found out about this. I'm now saving to have Laser treatment which has put a visit to the dentist on hold for a little while. It's sad when just the simple things to help an older person are so out of reach." - Sandra. 12.01.2022 By 2030, according to the government’s own figures, Australia will have spent three decades making almost no progress in reducing emissions

12.01.2022 According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, there is only 1 job vacancy for every 13 people on JobSeeker or Youth Allowance. It is imperative that we #Rai...setheRateforGood and call on the Government to not allowance government payments to go back to pre-COVID rates of as low as $40 per day. If you'd like to get involved with the #RaisetheRate campaign to ensure no Australian is forced to live in poverty you can: Write to your local MP, the Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, or Social Services Minister Senator Anne Rushton. 09.01.2022 Today, Queensland had an important choice to make. And Queensland has chosen to stick with Annastacia Palaszczuk and our plan for economic recovery. Jobs over c...uts. Stability over chaos. And strong leadership over reckless behaviour. Together, we’ll make sure that Queensland comes out of this pandemic stronger, fairer, and more secure. Thank you, Queensland. Let’s do this.

08.01.2022 This is just one more punitive effort from the Morrison government.

01.01.2022 This week, the Berejiklian Government blindsided the North Coast community of Murwillumbah by deciding to close four local schools. And it gets worse: they're f...orcing the schools onto a single campus and selling off the remaining sites to developers. It could even mean the displacement of dozens of teaching and support staff. This decision was made without any consultation - and it's a complete betrayal of the community. That's why we've launched a parliamentary e-petition to reverse this shocking decision.
