We hope you have a restful and relaxing holiday season surrounded by your loved ones (even if it's thanks to Zoom) and hold those who are not with you close to your hearts 2020 has been an interesting year and one that we will probably never forget. The hampers (hampers is an understatement really, because each was a trolley overflowing with household must haves and Christmas goodies) were gifted to five Hummingbird House families, who were randomly selected by Taki, using Andrea's magical prescription writing hat. 15.01.2022 When the COVID-19 pandemic hit earlier this year Hummingbird House as we knew it changed. How we operated, in terms of keeping our guests and families safe, changed. How we celebrated and grieved, in terms of happy days and sad days at the House, changed. And how we fundraised, in terms of events and activities, changed. The Coles-Hummingbird House campaign, our biggest annual fundraiser, was one of those events that we usually looked forward to. But in this new normal, we ha...d no certainty: Would it go ahead? What would it look like if it did? What would it mean to the House if it didn't? But Coles Queensland was committed. And while it did look different (in terms of in-store fundraisers, etc.), our campaign did indeed go ahead. Supported by 183 passionate and dedicated Coles Queensland stores. Yesterday, we were delighted to announce that the 2020 Coles-Hummingbird House fundraising campaign raised $550,000 this year! Amidst a global pandemic, which has affected so many lives, Queenslanders rallied together and raised $100,000 more than any of our previous campaigns, letting Hummingbird House families know that their community is - and always will be - there for them. Thank you Coles and thank you Queensland.
