12.01.2022 Hello to all our Hummingsong friends. Sending you much love during this time. We are all missing out face to face singing but if we cant have it face to face we will have it virtually. We started testing our zoom sessions this week which has generated much joy and connection. One foot in front of the other... we will all get there. I thought you would all appreciate this beautiful message I got today from one of our choir members that really made my week. My 4 year. Ol...d grandson thought I might be missing choir, so he made me one plus an Anna. Apparently I am the wrinkly one in the front. 11.01.2022 GREAT NEWS!!! Your chance to get involved! *** LEARN UKELELE *** By popular demand we are expanding some of our Hummingsong Academy offerings to Friends of Hummingsong!!... We are so excited about sharing this news as we know this will be of interest to many of you. (Especially our Melbourne and overseas friends in lockdown looking for some company and musical challenges!) We might not be able to meet as usual face to face at the moment but this crazy time sure has enabled us to try new things! This week concludes the end of our first 4 week block of online courses in a range of different things. Happy to share that these have been a great success with testimonials galore about how fun and fulfilling they are. First course offering will be Beginner Ukelele with Tom the Pom who will run 4 x 1 hour sessions on a Monday night from 7:30pm starting August 24 on Zoom. These sessions are nothing short of a breath of fresh air! Not only will you come away with new skills but Toms accessible teaching style will have you laughing, singing and feeling like a rockstar in no time . You will also have the chance to watch the session back to revise over anything with a link to the recorded session be sent to you afterwards. 04.01.2022 HUMMINGSONG ACADEMY LAUNCHED... ;) WOW! What a tremendous end to our first week of online courses. We have had.... a singalong piano bar session on Monday, singing technique on Tuesday, Intermediate sight reading & Jazz singing on Wednesday, Beginner ukelele tonight and next week we get to do it all again but with beginner learning to read session added in! All sessions have been super well attended with wonderful feedback and presenters giving their all in this new envir...onment. We are feeling a great sense of relief & support with adapting to the challenges presented to us. Online is a whole new ball game for us but how fabulous that we can fill a need in a time where we would all LOVE nothing more than to be singing with each other in person. Thank you to all our members who have joined in on our sessions this week! We did it!
