24.01.2022 Tell you what, not at all impressed that the sunrise is now almost 7am...what will it be when I get back. Yes, I'm heading off for five weeks. My home town of Sydney is calling, well not really but when you've got parents in their 80's, you do these things. Happily though.. This morning’s show, although I didn't say anything contained a lot of songs that have meaning to me, there were several of my all-time favourites in the show this morning...You prob guessed Phil Collins, ...Do you Remember, but songs like Daisy a Day, Old Dogs, Children & Watermelon Wine, Little Ole Wine Drinking me...and the list goes on. My program will be in very capable hands, I have arranged for Ria Walter to do the 5 weeks I'm away and thanks Ria for doing this on my behalf...Not sure if Ria is brave enough to continue on with the Humpday Breakfast part, but...it’s all good. So until the 11th April, I hope you enjoy Ria's music and prepare yourself for my return. The program will be a little different but won't spoil anything at this time...Just remember Humpday Breakfast is your only "More Music, less talk program" of all the breakfast programs between Monday and Friday on Hobart FM. 12.01.2022 A beautiful morning this morning, was dark when I got up, dark when I left and just a tad lighter when I arrived at the station................NOOOOOO...means summer is fading away...It's not fair.. Last Saturday night I went to a house concert in Wynyard for an artist named Jeremiah Johnson, who I'd never heard of before...Anyway he started out by telling us a bit about himself, then he mentioned he was from Waragamba in NSW and asked if anyone of the 30 odd people there, kn...ew where I was. I was the only ne to say, yep...he asked how, told him its not far away from my home in Sydney (prob about 35-40klms) and well a Western Suburbs of Sydney conversation took place for a few mins. As a result of this concert and meeting, I've decided to play a new start up song from today onwards, yep, you guessed it - Jeremaih Johnson - Meet you in the morning. I quite like it, what do you think...?? No laptop today, CD's to control, but it all went pretty smoothly, I really enjoyed the music this morning. Humpday Breakfast is the only more music, less talk breakfast show on Hobart FM. I've had people tell me I playing more of the 80's onwards music, yes that is very true, my music preference has changed over the past few months, I'm finding that I appreciate and enjoy lots of music from this time onwards, not the heavier stuff, but songs that have words and music that just go together so well. So yes, you'll hear a wider variety of music played on Humpday Breakfast. So for that breathe of fresh air, tune into Hobart FM every Wednesday morning from 6am till 9am, for Humpday Breakfast, the only More music, less talk breakfast program of a Wednesday to choose. 12.01.2022 Oh darkness go away...I want to see the pre-dawn light as I'm leaving for the station, not complete darkness. Another show that I really enjoyed presenting, again sang along to all the songs, my musical tastes are on the increase. Finding some great music I didn't realise I had. I am in the process of acquiring 18 cd's titled "The Music of Your Life". Once I've got all these (18 cds in all) I'll play 4 tracks each program, commencing upon my return in April. Next week is my l...ast show for 5 weeks. Ria Walter will be filling in for me while I'm away. So stay tuned for this, Ria does an excellent show, commencing 7th March. I have played quite a few newer tracks (well 80's isn't really newer, it's 30 plus years old now...), even dabbled into the 90's & 2000's a bit. My program next week may contain a few surprises, it may not...see how I'm feeling...I do have some great mega mixes, so reckon I'll pop one, maybe 2 of these in. 10.01.2022 A very lumpy Hump Day breakfast return this morning. For the first 30mins, I wondered if I was going to get the rest of my program on air, computer doing weird and wonderful stuff, station computer didn't like me and well....but I did survive...just Lots of Australian music played this morning, all found on a CD set while I was away in Sydney. Some great tracks there, many I haven't heard on radio for a long time. I survived this morning, several cups of coffee after the show... so now its time to publish today's program so you can re-visit the songs I played. Happy Hump Day Wayne
