18.01.2022 MELBOURNE CUP SWEEPS WE ARE OFF & AWAY

16.01.2022 Good morning, The Humula Citizens Sports Club is located at the tiny and picturesque rural village of Humula. We are half way between Sydney and Melbourne just off the Hume Highway. We are 15 minutes from Tarcutta and 30 minutes to Holbrook.... We also have a caravan park as part of the Club. We would very much like to seek your guidance on what we can do to attract visitors and stays at our caravan park please? The Club is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. We have a local Chef who cooks a community meal on a Monday night and usually has a choice of 3 main courses for a cost of $15 each. Takeaway meals are also available on Monday night and frozen meals and milk as well as takeaway alcohol sales are also available. We have a laundry, male and female bathrooms as well as bbq facilities. Our Club is the smallest registered club in NSW and the 1st Club to allow women as full members. We have survived 2 major bushfires and 2 major floods over the past 5 years and we are very proud of our little community. We are looking at getting a grant to upgrade our toilet block and would very much appreciate some Grey Nomads, Geriatric Gypsies or other friendly travellers to visit us and staying a few days. We would like to offer some very special deals for a limited time to get feed back on our park and help get our little village known as a friendly and picturesque place to stay for short to longer visits. The normal cost of a night stay is $12. Our rural village is quaint and beautiful. The park is nestled alongside the bank of the Umbango Creek and enjoys the shade of the deciduous and native trees. We are an ideal base for day trips to the eastern foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Destinations include: Tumbaraumba, Home of the prize winning best Australian Champagne at Courabyra Vineyard, as well as other fabulous high altitude wines; Batlow, home of Australia’s best apples and cider; Adelong, home of Adelong Falls and old goldmine; Tumut, fisherman’s playground; Khancoban, another fisherman’s paradise; Mount Selwyn Ski field; Rosewood, another rural village, almost as cute as Humula We are also only 45 minutes from the major centre of Wagga Wagga, and 60 minutes to Albury. We hope you don’t mind us reaching out to you about this and very much look forward to hearing from you to book in your visit to the Humula Citizens Sports Club and Caravan Park. Thank you. Regards, The Humula Club

04.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It has been great to see the club open again and to see so many faces, new and old, back at the club. Thank you to all for your support and patronage of the club.... Baillie and Bernie have been cooking up a storm on Friday night with their Humula Pizzas and hot chips literally just walking out the door. The girls would love some extra helpers, so if you are coming down for pizza, pop out to the kitchen and lend a hand. The club has Firewood for sale, if you need a last load to see this winter out, please contact Vinnie McGrath on 0429 812 341. As mentioned previously, Monday night dinner night is changing to Wednesday night. We will be starting this Wednesday with Thai Chicken Curry and Rice or a Beef Stroganoff with rice for take away only. Big boy size $16 and average size $12. These will be available from the bar. If you have the mid-week blues, come down to the club, have a yarn and a drink and pick up some easy tea to lighten up your week. Thank you to everyone for signing in, sanitizing hands and following the COVID safe practices. From The Committee
