09.01.2022 I’m often asked questions about the Barrel hot tub. Here are some of the answers: It’s wood fired, which means it stays hot by keeping its underwater/submerged wood heater fire going. When guests arrive, it’s already been filled freshly with our pure mountain spring water. We have a commercial water licence for this purpose. During their stay, guests keep a few logs crackling away and the water stays at about 38-40C. It can be made hotter by opening the wood heater lid or c...ooler by shutting the lid. There are also hot and cold taps but it’s easier and quicker to use the fire. It contains about 2200L of fresh water which then irrigates the pasture when emptied. It’s nearly 2M deep so you can float, have a little swim or relax on the underwater seats. It’s made of western red cedar which smells divine and holds the heat perfectly. People have been hot soaking for relaxation and health benefits for thousands of years.
