24.01.2022 ESZTERGOM for YFUs mid year orientation, we travelled to a place called esztergom! its right on the border of hungary, next to slovakia, and we stayed next to the river danube, where literally across from it was slovakia! we toured esztergom for about 4 hours and saw some amazing sights of a church, beautiful views and a pretty inner city! we threw snowballs at each other pretty the whole time and enjoyed not only getting shivering cold in snow but also the atmosphere an...d fun of the walk! (not to mention us all having a coffee together ) a nice tour and a helpful orientation made for quite a large few days...! looking forward to updating you again! until next time - jack
14.01.2022 SEAFRET CONCERT hello everyone! last sunday, there was a concert in the Dürer Kert in Budapest, where an english band "Seafret" were playing! for christmas, my amazing sisters gifted me and some of my friends to go see them live in this pretty popular music venue! it was a load of fun to say the least! (unfortunately videos and photos cannot be uploaded together, so i have uploaded a video of their popular "Atlantis" on a seperate post, so be sure to give that a quick look!... <3) a big thank you to anna and cate, what an amazingly generous gift and an unforgettable experience! i got closer to my friends and classmates, and saw this AMAZING duo follow their dreams and inspire me further i hope everything is going swell in australia! missing everyone and more updates are to come very soon! thanks so much everyone ! jack

12.01.2022 SLOVAKIA SKIING over the long weekend in hungary, my exchange friends and i went skiing in SLOVAKIA!! of all places to go, Slovakia was the dream for skiing with stunning views, some very fun hills and amazing friends, it made for some of the most fun times with each other! <3 here are some photos! it took me a bit to get back into the groove of skiing, but by Saturday (the 2nd day) i was having a blast with the others on the slopes! it really was a fun weekend and... I've found Slovakian mountain ranges to be almost as good as our mountains down under expect some more updates!! a parliament tour is coming up, and a lot lot more exciting things! missing australia, just 3.5 months left in my exchange!!! unbelievable! and with that, jack
10.01.2022 BUDAPEST CITY hello again!! a lot has been happening and such little time! many updates to come (like this one!!) recently, 2 YFU volunteers, 3 other exchange students and I went on a nice "Budapest Tour" day out (pretty much just 6 friends laughing and having fun in the city) and what a great time it was! here are the photos from such a nice day! ... we walked up to the Liberty Statue (Szabadság Szobor in Hungarian ) which gave a beautiful view on top of the mountain in which it stands, had a cosy lunch in a warm café and finally around dark, made our way to Heroes Square (Hsök Tere - this is the square in which many statues of famous and important kings in Hungary's history stand + more!) a lovely day overall, which i thought was worth sharing with the lovely friend and family back home in australia the months are passing too fast, but im loving every moment of it ! until a short time away - jack
