24.01.2022 COVID-19: QLD BORDERS NOW CLOSED How will the border closures affect you? New border restrictions came into force overnight.... Queensland will now only remain open to freight and essential travel. Police have even set up check-points - including outside Windorah in the state's far south-west corner. If you do need to cross over, you can apply for a QLD Entry Pass: https://www.qld.gov.au/border-pass

23.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just a quick note to let you all know that our preparations for our Christmas in July party are on hold at the moment. With the current national ...health crisis we have no choice but to put any future events on hold until closer to the date. A decision by our committee (following any government rules/restrictions) will be made at the end of May and we will let you know weather we have to cancel or if we can continue our event as planned. Thank you for your continued support! Keep safe and healthy. Regards, Wanaaring Gymkhana Committee.

21.01.2022 For the first time in more than a century, Queensland will restrict access at its border. This step is essential to slow the spread of coronavirus on the advice... of our Chief Health Officer. These measures aren’t directed at our border communities who cross to shop or work, attend medical appointments and return to their homes. They’re designed to stop holidaymakers leaving southern states and risking the spread of this virus through Queensland. Measures take effect from midnight Wednesday and include: Border road closures and police checks on vehicles on major highways Advice to aircraft passengers at departure point that travellers to Queensland will be required to self-isolate for 14 days Travellers arriving at Queensland airports to be met by police and other officers Termination of rail services Exemptions include: Freight Emergency vehicles Emergency workers Those travelling to and from work Court orders including family court Compassionate grounds Medical treatment Anyone travelling to Queensland, not usually resident in Queensland, for any other reason will have to agree to self-isolate for 14 days sick or not. Penalties for failing to comply include fines of up to $13,345. Please let your own network know about these changes and help us spread the word. #Queensland #coronavirus

14.01.2022 It is with huge disappointment we wish to announce that the committee have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Hungerford Horse and Motorbike Gymkhana and Enduro. Even with the recent easing of restrictions in Queensland, it would be a mammoth task for our committee of volunteers to realistically and safely operate within the Government's COVID-19 Safe Framework for Events. It is essential we consider the safety of our community, neighboring communities, our comp...etitors, spectators and the caters attending our event. The amazing following we receive every year can be upwards of 400, making it an awesome weekend, but this is a big job in these normal year's, for our little committee and so managing a COVID safe plan for the weekend would be unrealistic for our manpower. We trust you will understand our decision and you will continue your amazing support into the 2021 event. We are just as disappointed but we will be back bigger and better next year!! #cancelled #disappointed #100percent #biggerandbetter2021 #weloveyoursupport #thankyouforyoursupport #bullooshirecouncil @explorebulloo #motorbikegymkhanaevents @thewesternherald @warregowatchman @outbackradio @nswaustralia @qldaustralia See more

02.01.2022 2020 LOUTH RACES are officially ABANDONED As COVID-19 restrictions began to slowly unwind, we hung onto a glimmer of hope that we could still pull this off to g...ive everyone an event to look forward to. Sadly, with less than two months to go, we have made the decision to CALL OFF the races scheduled for August 8th 2020. The health of our visiting punters, and all those living here in Outback NSW is of paramount importance to us. We do not want to put anyones health at risk and we especially want to protect our own district and place the needs of our local communities first at this time. We hope you understand. To all our amazing supporters and sponsors who have stuck with us through thick and thin over the years, we sincerely thank you. And to our faithful regulars (and those who are yet to visit Louth) See you all in August 2021! Louth Turf Club Committee
