22.01.2022 Exciting news @twentysix.fyi won the Gold Award under the Embellishment category at the 2020 National Print Awards by @printing_industries! @twentysix.fyi is a collaborative fundraising exhibition that featured twenty-six designers, artists and creators coming together to each design one letter of the alphabet. Together we raised $14,430.29 for the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundations (@alnf_) Subtext: Art for Literacy childrens art program. Subtext is an inten...sive art program that merges arts with the written word to provide a powerful means for young people of refugee background to express the complex and diverse aspects of their pasts, presents and futures. Each print was lovingly letterpress printed on Stephen Gesso White 360gsm generously donated by @spicersaus. Stephen is a specialty paper stock, with a toothy texture made from using 15% cotton fibres that give softness to the surface, and 20% recycled content adding volume and strength. Thank you to the collaborators who donated their work, thank you to our generous sponsors and the enthusiastic volunteers. Thank you to everyone who came along to the event and supported Twenty Six. 22.01.2022 To celebrate opening the doors to our new studio space in Brunswick East, the first thing we printed together, as a team was Daniel Madhavan’s 'A Prayer for Work’. ~ I pray for a place. A place to do our work. A place on the frontier. Between the light of the hearth fire and the darkness beyond. One neither too safe nor too dangerous. One of curiosity and growth. A place where questions are as treasured as answers. ... I pray for wisdom and understanding to discern what is right. Not the hollow wisdom of a mind’s lone voice, but the deeper wisdom of our hearts and minds in song. From the wholeness of that wisdom I ask for courage to act with purpose and grace to act with compassion. I pray for joy. That we may experience the satisfaction of our work. Like a gardener that soaks up the shape of a day’s labour. I ask that we may receive a quiet pride. One not drawn from the well of self-righteousness but from the gentle flowing stream of humility and service. I pray that we might stand as a circle. One in which all gifts are received. Where all gifts belong. Where all gifts are valued. One where we hold space for each to do our own inner work. A circle where I hold space for you. A circle where you hold space for me. I pray for a time of dreaming. Of imagining and reimagining. A time to create. Where the path behind us only serves to tell us where we are right now, not where we can go tomorrow. 20.01.2022 For us, and many small business around the country, today its business as (un)usual. Were getting on with our day as best as we can as the landscape around us changes and the future becomes a little less clear. One thing is for certain, if we help each other out well be able to pull through. Weve actioned the same steps that everyone else has were upping our hand hygiene and have implemented a work from home policy (where possible).... Were also reaching out to other small business that we work with and offering flexible payment options, digital press checks and an open line for anyone who has a project they want to get off the ground. Were here to help. In the meantime, its business for usual for us, and all our friends out there. Now more than ever its important to shop local and support your mates.

16.01.2022 A modern love story: Georgia & Ben met at CrossFit, became a couple and started their own gym together! As a nod to their history, we created a booklet style invitation, full of vintage illustrative exercises. A boy with a ring for the ceremony, a tumble roll for the timeline and ring-around-a-bottle for the reception. The cover was letterpress printed in gold on a deep green paper, reminiscent of a vintage book. The internal pages were risograph printed in black ink, paired ...with a letterpress printed RSVP card, all tucked into a Cherry Wooden envelope. 15.01.2022 'Rezan's Olive Bread with Coriander’ recipe is the third in our set of handwritten heirloom recipes. Submitted by Kelami Ata (@kelami), Rezan's son, claims it's the best olive bread in the world and we agree! We made it with our two young sons and they loved it. From Kelami: The recipe is from my mother Rezan. She migrated to Australia from North Cyprus in 1969 with my father. Leaving her family behind, she made a new life in West Sunshine where she has lived ever since.... Food is her way of connecting to her homeland. Her recipes are a life's work she is always striving to improve all of her recipes, and her work is never done! Each recipe is refined over and over again, resulting in several versions of the same recipe amongst her books, files and cupboards. And the trip across the globe necessitates some local improvements there is no Tasty Cheese in North Cyprus! ~ Available on our online shop for $5. In a pretty heavy time for everyone, including our small business were announcing our special release HEAVY METAL enamel pins. THIS IS HEAVY... Taming a lumbering, hundred-year-old printing press is no mean feat. To have our one-and-a-half tonne cast iron beast pirouetting on paper is something else entirely. We listen to their moans and aches, creaks and rattles. Its the only way we can work together. Some hear noise to us, its pure harmony.
