23.01.2022 So last saturday, the 9th of April 2016, I was blessed with one of the most tiring and yet the most fulfilling experience of my career. I photographed my first ever wedding. Weddings really are crazy, full-on days, teeming with emotions. From the nervousnes that hits while everyone eagerly awaits the arrival of the bride, to the waves of sheer emotion that hit the procession as the bride enters the room and slowly walks down the isle, and the groom's eyes well up with tears a...s he first spots his bride-to-be... all to be cast aside for a brief moment when he realizes he has forgotten the wedding vows at the hotel of course! :P As crazy and stressfull as it was, not for a split second did I see any part of the day as "work", and thats the best part I guess? And so, as the sun set on Saturday the 9th of April 2016, and Hany sat there with his arm around his wife Steph, I couldnt help but feel overwhelmed by the amazing feeling of gratitude, that I was able to be involved in a once-in-a-lifetime event, a special day for this beautiful couple, to be there and to be able to capture what will more than likely be, one of the most important days of their lives.

19.01.2022 *Exhale*..."We did it..." I'm a firm believer in the idea that every picture has some sort of story behind it. And for me, the more powerful the story, the more captivating the picture is. This shot was taken just as Steph and Hany signed their marriage certificate at a small table in the back corner of the church. ... After months of planning, organising, inviting, stressing, rushing, getting hair & makeup done, racing to the church, walking down the aisle, forgetting the vows at the hotel and having to improvise them from a blurry iphone photo, fiddling with rings, saying "I do" and finally kissing the bride... the bridal party shuffles to the back of the church and signed their documents. It was at this point, that the dust settled, Time slowed down for a split second, all the stress of planning the day lifted and the couple finally got to gaze upon each other as husband and wife. *Exhale*..."We did it" :) "Let's party!"

16.01.2022 So, as I'm sorting though these wedding photos, I'm noticing more and more that a wedding is really just an epic story, made up of smaller, more personal stories. And so every now and then, I come across a photo that really tells those thousand words, a photo that really paints the picture of what the day is about for the people involved. So when I look at this shot, I don't see a bride and her sister about to get ready for the big day, I see two bubbly, cheeky little girls, just enjoying each others company, writing memories that will last forever.

15.01.2022 \\ Not all those who wander, are lost \\ Over the past few months I've been fairly quiet on the social media side of things, and haven't taken the time I should have to update my Facebook page. Life gets crazy, things get in the way and as photographers, we keep snapping away, because its what we love to do! But recently Ive been trying to re-ignite what being a photographer means to me. As creatives, we are all on a journey, its about passion, its about growth and ultimately..., its about the art. For me, Its about using my eyes, to speak through my art and illustrate my journey, and ultimately, putting a part of myself into every photo. What I'm trying to say is, creativity and passion doesn't get lost, I guess sometimes it just goes wandering, and sometimes trying to find it, is like trying to find a pair of glasses that have been sitting on the bridge of your nose the whole time, so learn to have fun with it because its all just part of the journey!

For this photo, I asked him to sit still while I set up some new lighting equipment I had bought.
