22.01.2022 ISO PROJECT II GUEST BEDROOM TWO II This is one of the mini projects I gave myself to do at home during isolation...seven long months of it!! It’s not nearly finished, some art, lighting, desk nook and fresh sisal carpets but we are getting there. This was all done on budget. painting/wallpapers I did, panelling we got some help with and ordered a lot online and waited and waited for it to come! This is one of my favourite rooms in our 1907 house the morning sun is divine. Am...azing what you can do in a few short hours while your child sleeps!! 02.01.2022 Over the past 4 months or so we have battled along with the Covid craziness, like all small, regional business we have some bad/frustrating/annoying issues as a result but none the less it’s not been too bad. HOWEVER when it comes to freight and couriers we have had an absolute nightmare. We have tried them all and whether sending or receiving, even old faithful Australia Post has managed to delay, damage or lose orders both stock going out and stock being received. Anyway......totally open to suggestions (or maybe there is a gap in the market for regional freight....anyone???) but with borders now closed I can only assume the next 6 weeks will incur more delays as couriers will deliver to the VIC side but for some reason the NSW side is like visiting the elephants graveyard (reference The Lion King)!! as a boarder town everything we send goes via Melbourne everything we receive goes via Sydney, but up until Covid we were relatively unaffected by these issues. We try and curate a range of bespoke, handcrafted products sourced from all over the and when I first started I ordered some linens from France and when they turned up thought geez that must be the first Paris to Womboota freight DHL have accepted...too easy!! Turns out it’s not, but I do have faith that post Covid madness lots of these hiccups with subside. I sincerely appreciate all the lovely customers who patiently wait on their orders and we totally understand the frustration you must feel...we are still ordering, receiving and sending stock as best we can given I can’t cross the boarder.
