21.01.2022 Paul working a 1knot thermal 30km from narromine trying to get enough height to get home. He did, just, but it was too marginal and not safe, too much sink on t...rack. So we landed at a disused runway at Happy Valley. The farmer has a fence across the middle of the runway to split in to paddocks. But half is still enough for a safe landing if you know about and avoid the fence. Paul got us down safe and sound for an easy retrieve by the up and coming HVGC A team of retrieves Carl and Shawn. https://www.facebook.com/1000037285957//2086829114784688/

That altitude surpasses even the maximum recorded altitude in level flight of the United States Air Forces famous U-2 Dragon Lady reconnaissance aircraft: 73,737 feet, flown by pilot Jerry Hoyt on Apr. 17, 1989. Official record by FAI is GPS altitude 74,334 feet / 22,657 meters. #AirbusPerlanMission II See more

07.01.2022 A life extension is a deep inspection of the aircraft - much more so than the annual inspection. This is when you address all the little things that youve been putting off for a while.

02.01.2022 Some images from Shawn Armitage yesterday. 30 gliders launched into an ok looking day, but it was trickier than it looked. The paddock retrieve of the club duo meant pushing it 500m across a soft stubble paddock. The trailer can be seen in the distance in one photo. Thanks Shawn Armitage
02.01.2022 I know I’m biased but the early Duos are really good to look at in the air. They fly well too.
