25.01.2022 Have you ever wanted to try the sport of dragon boating? Well come along to Queens Wharf park in Morpeth on Sunday 18th October between 8:30 & 9:30am

25.01.2022 Some of our club members participating in the Morpeth to Newcastle OC6 relay challenge. Cross training at its best A huge thanks to Newcastle Outrigger Canoe Club for the invitation. Can’t wait to do it again with you. #paddlelife #outrigging #OC6 #morpeth #mymaitland

25.01.2022 Great fun sharing our water with some local clubs

24.01.2022 Paddler Spotlight NAME: Georgia PADDLING SINCE: 2018 PREFERRED POSITION: I like the front of the boat, in the stroking pod because it always presents a new and fun challenge. HOW IT BEGAN: My mum dragged me along to a fun community race day with her gym. I had a great time and wanted to join HRD and work on my technique so I could paddle in more serious regattas with the team.... FUNNY PADDLE MOMENT: I don’t think I can pick just one favourite funny moment, as there is always a bunch of laughs at training. Never a dull moment with this lot! GOOD MEMORY: My first marathon at the Mylestom regatta. I was so nervous and didn’t think I would be able to do it but with everyone’s support I did it. We even completed the 8.5km race with a fantastic sprint to the finish line. See more

20.01.2022 Another awesome morning of dragon boating. First up was our crew training followed by another fantastic beginners session. We once again welcomed a great bunch of new paddlers who showed they have what it takes. #hunterriverdragons #dragonboating #morpeth #paddlelife

20.01.2022 Have boat will travel We had an awesome joint training session this morning with some of our local clubs. Thanks to Dragonhunters - Newcastle Dragonboat Teams , Greater Port Stephens Dragon Boat Club Inc. & @hunteriverdragons for a great session. Almost felt like a regatta #hunterriverdragons #dragonboating #havepaddlewilltravel #dbnsw

14.01.2022 Weather is looking good for our beginners session tomorrow

13.01.2022 Paddler Spotlight NAME: Fiona PADDLING SINCE: 2014 PREFERRED POSITION: I’ve paddled everywhere in the boat. Because of my narrow bottom I am usually shoehorned into bench 10. I like the challenge of the back pod, trying to find the hard water. I equally like the timing challenge up the front. ... HOW IT BEGAN: I started paddling with Dragons Abreast because my body needed to rebuild, but it was a long drive in to Newcastle 3 days a week and I eventually found Hunter River Dragons on-line. I have rarely missed a training session or morning coffee and I still paddle with the Dragons Abreast Ladies at regattas. FUNNY PADDLE MOMENT: I am the butt of many jokes and I love the random dry humour at our training sessions. No training session is complete without a good laugh. GOOD MEMORY: My first Flowers on the Water Remembrance. The emotion shared with my HRD & DA buddies was unexpected and overwhelming. Also paddling in the International DA event in Florence with 1000s of pink ladies was unforgettable. Have paddle will travel!

08.01.2022 Sunday session at Raymond Terrace due to a triathlon closing access to our boat ramp. At least the Williams River is a great spot for some long endurance training. #hunterriverdragons #dragonboating #williamsriver #paddlesup #paddlefit

08.01.2022 Can’t wait to see everyone at our beginners session tomorrow .

03.01.2022 Did you miss our come & try day but still want to have a go? We are holding dedicated sessions for new paddlers over the next 4 weeks. Check out the event details on our Facebook page https://fb.me/e/1K7228Vob #hunterriverdragons #dragonboating #morpeth #paddlefit

03.01.2022 Great paddle this morning. The weather was perfect.

02.01.2022 Thank you to Dragonhunters - Newcastle Dragonboat Teams and Greater Port Stephens Dragon Boat Club Inc. for joining us on the beautiful Hunter and Paterson Rivers this morning. It was great the show off our part of 'the dragon boating world.' Much fun was had by all. A special big thank you to Tim for organising the boat transport. It would not have been possible without his expert towing abilities.

02.01.2022 Another Thursday night training session done and what a great night to be in the water #hunterriverdragons #dragonboating #morpeth #paddlefit
