12.01.2022 Update on the abdominoplasty petition: Thank you so much to all our followers who signed the petition we shared to help restore the abdominoplasty item number for mums after pregnancy and birth trauma! Not only did 13,000 people sign it, but it has been presented to Parliament by Fiona Martin MP who represents Kerrie Edwards, the mum of twins who established the petition. Our patients were part of the research referred to in the petition and the evidence is clear that abdomi...noplasty improves chronic back pain and incontinence. Hopefully the government is able to reintroduce a Medicare item number to help these women with strict rules around clinical need, just as there are for weight loss patients who are still able to access rebates for this surgery.
