15.01.2022 Gymnastics NSW believes that children’s safety and best interests come first. Today kicks off National Child Protection Week. This year National Child Protectio...n Week will celebrate its 30th year with the theme: Putting children first 'Putting children first’ was front of mind when the National Child Protection Week campaign was launched in 1990, with the aim of bringing abuse and neglect out of the shadows and putting child wellbeing on the national agenda. Since then, the need to put children first has been recognised time and time again as an important pillar for boosting the wellbeing of all children in Australia.
15.01.2022 BREAKING: ST FRANCIS XAVIER'S COLLEGE CLOSED AS AT LEAST ONE STUDENT TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 From HNE Health: A third case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in... Newcastle. He is a male teenager who is a household contact of the teenager announced yesterday and the man in his 20s announced earlier today. Hunter New England Health is continuing to investigate the source of infection for all three cases. Anyone who attended St Francis Xavier's College (Hamilton East) on Monday 3, Tuesday 4, and Wednesday 5 August is urged to be on the lookout for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested immediately should any respiratory symptoms or fever occur. The school has been notified and will be closed for cleaning. Contact tracing is underway. All close contacts of the teenager are being notified and are required to seek testing and isolate for 14 days, regardless of their test result. Hunter New England Health is still working to identify any further contacts or venues visited by the teenager, and additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available. All close contacts will be notified and required to isolate for 14 days. The source of infection of the Newcastle family cluster is still unknown, so it is vital people in the community continue to present for testing if experiencing symptoms to limit the spread of the virus. We urge everyone to follow the directions they receive about home isolation and quarantine, and maintain COVID-safe practices of physical distancing, coughing or sneezing into their elbow, and regularly washing their hands.

14.01.2022 Hunter Sports Centre is requesting all parents/carers involved in our child assisted classes consider wearing a face mask during class and to continue to practice social distancing. These classes are - Kindergym - Parent & Child Junior Gym - Gym Mobility... The advice from the NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant specifically recommends: the use of face masks in indoor settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain, such as on public transport or in supermarkets the use of face masks (where practical) in indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission, such as for the staff of hospitality and customer-facing venues i.e. cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs during attendance at places of worship. Wearing a mask in any of these settings is not mandatory but is highly recommended, especially in areas where there has been community transmission. https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-/health-advice-update-on-masks
