22.01.2022 School Hours Please remember that students are not to be on school grounds before 8.30am. There have been an increasing number of students being dropped off before this time. The safety of our students is our number 1 priority. Please assist us in keeping your children safe by ensuring that your children are only on school grounds when supervision begins at 8.30am.

22.01.2022 We are accepting 2021 Kindergarten Enrolments now. If you know of any families in our zone who have students that are beginning Kindergarten in 2021, please get them to phone the school office.

21.01.2022 Last week, our Year 3-6 students had to design, make and test their own swing. Check out their work in progress.

20.01.2022 We are so very proud to be a part of the 100 Beehives in 100 Schools initiative. We feel very lucky to be able to have this beehive in our schools grounds. Today was bee survey day. We had to observe and record the number of bees coming in and out of the hive, the different colours of pollen on them, what types of flowers they were attracted to and weigh our hive. Today it weighed in at 5.1kg which is lighter than last month. After analysing possible reasons for the loss in weight, we believe that our little bees are still eating their food stores from the winter and have not yet built up a new store due to the colder weather.

19.01.2022 This week our students have been working on valuing difference and diversity by practising the skills of turn taking and including each other in lots of different ways. We also looked at how people can react when the rules to games change. There was lots of cooperation during these tricky games.

15.01.2022 Don't forget that tomorrow is the last day of our book fair. Bring some money into school tomorrow or jump online to purchase your favourite books.

13.01.2022 Check out how our carrots turned out. We planted these carrot seeds quite some time ago. We waited so patiently and are so excited to harvest them. We all had crunchy carrots for a recess snack. Yum yum!

13.01.2022 These wonderful students have been working hard in their classrooms and their home reading to achieve their personal best. Congratulations to all of you.

13.01.2022 Here are a few happy snaps of some of our learning recently.

13.01.2022 Our students have started working together to analyse and reflect on each other's learning and use peer feedback to set challenging learning goals.

12.01.2022 One part of our bee survey is to record the colour of the pollen that we see on their legs as they enter the hive. This gives us an idea of the types of flowers they are attracted to and will help us to make a decision about which new plants to put in our school to sustain our busy bees.

11.01.2022 Bees move very quickly in and out of the hive while they gather food for their colony. We had to concentrate and count out loud to keep up with them.

08.01.2022 More pollen colour watch recorded.

08.01.2022 Over the last two weeks Years 3-6 have been working on collecting data and creating graphs in mathematics. Students have been practising their data collecting abilities in PDHPE by graphing the number of laps they have run over a week long period and counting the number of repetitions they can do of a variety of exercises.

08.01.2022 Our 3-6 class are busy working on their Australian animal artworks. We have been inspired by Bronwyn Bancroft's artworks and books. We love her exploration in line and colour.

06.01.2022 "Learn as much as you can about the culture and participate." - Aunty Deanna. Each year, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who are part of some of the oldest continuing cultures on the planet. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC2020 *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

05.01.2022 Just harvested this morning. Fresh, crunchy celery and super spinach. We also have a couple of dozen eggs. If you are interested in this produce, give the school office a call.

04.01.2022 Get Fire Season Ready! Our wonderful Huntingdon RFS have provided us with these packs to help inform us of ways in which we can prepare for the Fire Season which is already upon us. They are coming home today with the students. If you have any questions or would like some more guidance in preparing your property, reach out to the Huntingdon Brigade.

04.01.2022 The K-2 class were lucky to have Darby and Kerry teach them about still life art. They discussed other forms of art, including portraits and landscapes. The students then drew some fruit and vegetables using lead pencil. They focused on adding shadows to their drawing. Next week they will experiment with paint and continue to extend their skills.

03.01.2022 Today our students harvested this beautiful produce from our gardens. This is available for sale. If you would like to purchase any of these items, we are selling them for a gold coin donation per item bundle. Send a gold coin in tomorrow with your child and a wish list and we will send a package home. We have red cabbage, silverbeet, heaps of bunches of parsley, carrots and beets. Your donations will go towards replanting our garden beds with new seedlings.

03.01.2022 We are so excited to be able to use our yarning circle space each day. Uncle Amos and his team from Bunyah have hand made our yarning circle seats and Mr Taylor has worked hard to make it an inviting space. Yesterday, we were lucky to have Jamie, Uncle Amos and Aunty Linda join us in our yarning circle and teach us about listening to and respecting each other.

01.01.2022 We are learning how to carefully remove our hive from its frame so that we can weigh it each month.

01.01.2022 Just a little reminder that Monday 17 August is our school photo day. Please remember to return your photo ordering envelopes to the office if you haven't already done so. All students will need to wear full school uniform. Practise those smiles over the weekend and get ready to say, "Cheese!"
