19.01.2022 On this day, 23 Nov 1948, the mighty Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) was born, and so was the classic phrase ahhh, we’re basically Infantry, but with shovels/LAVs/mogs/blankets. #everyone wants to be a grunt until it’s time to do grunt stuff... The Royal Australian Regiment has been Australia’s Violent answer for 72 years and upholds a proud history. it has served in every conflict and deployed on operations in Japan, Korea, Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam, Somalia, Rwanda, Cambodi...a, East Timor, the Solomon Islands, Philippines, Iraq and Afghanistan. While every other Corps are issued their Corps badge after completing Kapooka. The Infantry must go on and earn their coveted Skippy Badge at the School of Infantry, Singleton, NSW. The life of a grunt is a difficult one, and not for everybody. You’re often freezing cold or disgustingly hot, filthy, sleep deprived and exhausted, malnourished, carrying more than your body weight in gear and ammunition, whilst periodically getting shot at or blown up. You rely on the brothers standing next to you to keep you alive, and you will never find a bond, as strong as shared suffering, anywhere else. 16.01.2022 Remembrance day. A day we’re we pause and remember our brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the service of their country. We remember our mates who didn’t come home. And we remember the ones who sadly lost the war within, upon returning.... As a Veteran owned company, with team members that have collectively seen service in Somalia, Rwanda, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan, we particularly feel the pain of Veteran suicide. What, like guns that fire shots? ... This was purchased second hand by one of the lads at Huntsman a little while ago. It had already been spray painted (albeit it poorly) in a camo finish. But that was never going to cut it for an OCD ex Snipyboi. So the first thing on the cards was a proper Multicam finish. 2.5 inches was then cut off the barrel opening up a nice spread, and eliminating the need to wipe the sleep from your eyes. The Surefire looks good, but isn’t really needed.
