25.01.2022 Thinking about glamping. This is me, Emma, the person behind @huonvalleyglamping I am originally from London and moved to Australia in 2010. I have studied here and worked here and used to be a high school teacher. My husband and I moved to the Huon Valley in 2018 and the reason I set up glamping is to give other people the chance to experience the valley in a unique tent. I can also set up for weddings and events and excited to see how others can use the tent. 19.01.2022 Southport Lagoon. We drove to Southport Lagoon today. You need a 4wd to get in and it took my husband an hour to get to the lagoon and me twenty minutes to get out which says a lot about our driving style. To really experience it I’d say you need a boat as there isn’t a beach to relax on so after a quick stop we headed to Cockle Creek. Cockle Creek is about an hour from us in Geeveston and has free camping. I had considered my glamping tent there but free camping isn’t always... guaranteed and lack of toilets and showers just wasn’t ideal for glamping. You would need to style it or if you have a wedding stylist they can incorporate the tent. Or we can also offer our two captains chairs, floor rugs, canvas day bed, bench, white wooden box and stool for inside. 05.01.2022 Our recent guests had to say It was so great to arrive at this stylish glamp site located in a prime spot by the river with lots of birdlife & regular platypus sightings! On entry, we were enchanted by the presentation & vintage styling. Loved the local treats, the Huon Valley toiletries, the extras at the campground like daily Tasmanian Devil feeding & farm animal petting were wonderful. Very comfortable stay, Very clean too, with no bugs in sight which is rare when campin...g. The campsite is approximately 4 times the size of the average campground so you have plenty of privacy from your neighbours. My son loved the swing which was just steps away. Top location with excellent Jin's Korean restaurant & Alternative Japanese just 3 minutes away, all the conveniences of local town Huonville, plus top rated wineries, cafes, cidery, orchards, artsy towns of Cygnet & Franklin to visit & the Hastings Caves & Tahune Airwalk further south with beautiful scenery to enjoy on the way including the mountain range which looks like a sleeping woman known as Sleeping Beauty. Will definitely be recommending! It is so great to be able to bring a child, this really makes you stand out from the other Tasmanian glamping I searched.
