24.01.2022 The classic Tasmanian view from Cape Pillar across the dolerite spires of 'The Blade' towards Tasman Island. It's a stunning location to take in all three capes of the Tasman Peninsula including Cape Raoul and Cape Hauy. #threecapeslodgewalk @marshamuttdon via #taswalkingco on IG

22.01.2022 Calm, misty mornings at Kettering Located just 30 minutes from Hobart, Kettering is a quiet town sitting on the shores of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Sur...rounded by beautiful rolling hills, this sheltered little town also serves as the gateway to Bruny Island. Kettering : IG/@vanrides_oz
22.01.2022 Yes we are open tomorrow! And we will be every day from September 26th till late October. It’s been an incredibly busy day preparing the display and all the in...s and outs of having people visit our farm. We are very pleased to have a modest and beautiful showing of Tulips for our first day. Due to the wet weather please consider bringing footwear other than your best (gumboots suggested!)! This photo taken earlier this afternoon.
21.01.2022 HAPPY THURSDAY! We’re nearly at the end of the week, Tassie! What do you have planned for the weekend? : Josh Agnew
19.01.2022 Cradle Mountain... this is Wild Tasmania thanks to Stoked for Saturday :) "Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, one of the coolest looking mountains out there and an am...azing climb. We hiked in the first afternoon to stay at the Scott Kilver hut and back tracked the second day around the mountain to the Overland Track to do the summit on our way out. Hanson's peak was our favorite view point (aside from the summit of course)." Cradle Mountain needs little introduction, it is one of the highlights on any Tassie adventure. In fact 92% of walkers, from all over the world, state that walking the Overland Track, with its ancient rainforests and alpine heaths, was one of the best things they’ve done! Check out this footage and you will see why :) #Tasmania
19.01.2022 Spring time in the cherry orchard We need warmer weather so the bees can get to work.

12.01.2022 Our fields look beautiful... but so does our indoor display! Karen Gilday is an incredible florist who volunteered a huge amount of time and energy to create an expanse of blooms inside our gallery/shop. We can’t thank her enough
12.01.2022 The perfect start to the day, wandering the peaceful banks of the Huon River in the heart of the Huon Valley with Georgie FitzGerald. The Huon Valley produces... some of Tassie's finest fresh produce, so it’s sure to keep you satisfied on all your Southern Tassie adventures. What's your favourite Huon Valley gem? 10.01.2022 A rather speccy sunrise on the Hobart waterfront this morning shared by @katypotaty77. There is a definite hint of warmth in the air making that early morning rise far more enticing.
10.01.2022 The shot of a lifetime....also was lucky enough to capture a little bit of bioluminescence in the waves :D

05.01.2022 A great milestone was reached during the week of the 13th Nov. 'Jane de Cray' was launched into the water, after being worked on for 3 years by our volunteers.... The person who was leading the refurbishment was Rob, and we must thank him for his tireless work and passion. She is stunning and now takes pride of place within our dinghy shed. She was donated to us by the Fricker Family many years ago, and we are fortunate to have her now as one of our working boats. Our thanks go to the family for allowing The WBC to be the new custodian. 'Jane de Cray' is 5.7mt long, with a beam of 2.2mt and a draft of 450mm. Rob and of late Nick, have done the Wooden Boat Centre proud with their attention to detail as well as restoring a wonderful part of our Tasmanian heritage of wooden boats. 'Jane de Cray' will now take pride of place as The Wooden Boat Centre's little working boat. See more

03.01.2022 STILL WILD - LET'S KEEP IT THAT WAY The Wellington Park Management Plan shows about 95% of the Park is still wild (46.5% of the Park area has a biophysical nat...uralness rating of 5 low disturbance, 48.1% has a BNR of 4, and only 3.7% has a BNR of 0 high disturbance). "The Park is unique in being incredibly close to and accessible to a major urban area while retaining elements of wilderness, with remote areas of minimal infrastructure, intact ecosystems and substantially undisturbed landscapes." (page 16 WPMP) Mount Wellington is recognised as being one of the most biodiverse areas in Tasmania with a high diversity of vegetation types and communities and therefore a high diversity of habitat and fauna. Flora includes the presence of over 500 native species, representing about 30% of Tasmania's native vascular flora. It also has over 80 endemic species representing approximately 30% of the total number of Tasmania's vascular endemics (the Mountain is recognised as one of Tasmania's richest sites in terms of the number of endemic species, with two species being found only in this area). The Mountain deserves better than carving a new road through high-value biodiversity bushland, massive excavation for a multi-level commercial centre on the summit, a car park and base station built on a firebreak, ugly towers, cables, aerial buses a spin cycle of mass tourism. The Mountain's geodiversity, landscape, fauna, flora, cultural values and Aboriginal heritage deserve protection. Now is not the time to build mass tourism infrastructure designed to funnel large volumes of people into a commercial complex on the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington. It is not the time to destroy habitat and to reduce the abundance and diversity of wildlife on the Mountain. Now is the time to take extreme care of the few wild place they we have left. Respect the Mountain - No Cable Car Photos: Some more examples of the magnificent wildflowers currently in bloom on kunanyi/Mt Wellington (Erika Shankley, Maria Grist, Lynne Maher, Adrian Bol see below for details). What a great time to get out and enjoy the natural wonders of the Mountain.
01.01.2022 Another milestone.....
