25.01.2022 Lest We Forget

23.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

20.01.2022 Don't forget that we are opening the doors today

20.01.2022 I was very happy to get a call today to let me know that the Huon Agricultural Society was successful in winning $290K from the Australian Government. This will allow us to progress the $593K project to provide new toilets, an accessible change area and a new Pavilion for the Show Ground. Mark Jessop President

19.01.2022 Don't forget to have your say on the Ranelagh Recreation Ground Master Plan, submissions close on Sunday!

17.01.2022 Tonight we held our Annual General Meeting and a General Meeting. We had some of our attendees embrace Zoom and attended virtually, along with attendees in person at Home Hill Winery practising appropriate social distancing. This was the Huon Show's first experience with a virtual meeting, and overall it was a great success!

17.01.2022 At the recent meeting the Huon Agricultural Society made the tough decision to cancel the 74th Huon Show scheduled for the 14 November 2020. This is the first time that the Huon Show has been cancelled in its 74-year history. We understand the importance of our Show to the Huon Valley community which has made this decision all the more difficult for the committee. The decision not to proceed with the 2020 Huon Show has not been taken lightly. Careful consideration has been gi...ven to factors including the health and well-being of our volunteers, community members and the many people involved with and attending the Show. We understand that the current Government restrictions cannot provide clarity as to what the future holds for mass gatherings /events. Despite our show not being scheduled until November 2020, the preparation and planning for our event begins ten months in advance to ensure that we are providing the best possible experience on Show Day. We are currently investigating what events or competitions we may be able to run in November, when the Show would normally run. More information will be provided as details are firmed up. We are looking forward to the 2021 Huon Show, as we celebrate our 75th birthday and everything that the Huon Valley has to offer.

14.01.2022 Our current collection stockpile, with more being collected currently!

12.01.2022 Please give us your feedback. Dear Huon Show supporters, our home is very important to us - the Ranelagh Ground has been part of the show since the 1940's and it was the first show committee that established the site. We would now like your thoughts on what happens to this site over the next 10 to 20 years. The Council has commissioned a Master Plan - which we and other users all made a contribution to. I would encourage you to follow the link below, look at the report an...d provider feedback to the Council through their survey tool. Once the plan is finalised there is a big job to source funding and implement the recommendations - but the more community feedback the greater our chance to get this done. Survey closes 10 May. Thanks for your support, Mark Jessop, HAS President. https://www.huonvalley.tas.gov.au//draft-ranelagh-recreat/

09.01.2022 Thank You Doesn't Seem Enough! Without each and every one of our amazing volunteers, our show would not happen! From the committee who volunteer for 12 months of the year to make it happen and to those that turn up before, during and after Show Day volunteering their precious time to help out. Thank You!

09.01.2022 We are again opening the Shed doors to accept feed donations!

07.01.2022 We are lucky to have four representatives at the Inaugural National Conference on the Gold Coast
