22.01.2022 A century with the Salvos! https://fal.cn/3bir8 Born in September 1920 at Gulgong into a Salvation Army family, for over 100 years, Hazel Vickery’s* life... has been richly entwined with the work and mission of The Salvation Army. When relocating to Sydney, Hazel met her future husband Fred Vickery. They married in 1947 and went on to have four children, one of which later became a Salvos Officer. Hazel is a valued member of the Parramatta Corps and an amazing person with a dry sense of humour and a keen interest in her corps, Grant Sandercock-Brown from Parramatta Salvos says. She is a constant encouragement! We thank God for her and pray every blessing on her for the future. *Hazel is pictured with Bruce Bowie, who regularly transports Hazel to church. 20.01.2022 Today was a moving day in so many ways. Moving in the stories heard, moving in the privilege to be at an actual event, and moving to be awarded TAS Young Austra...lian of the Year 2021. It is such an honour not only to be the winner of this award, but to be recognised alongside the other finalists and nominees as well as following the preceding INCREDIBLE 2020 winner Will Smith @ JCP Empowering Youth! Let’s all ask the question, what’s your story and how does it contribute to Australia. Let’s ask the tough questions about our future, what’s normal and what needs to change? 03.01.2022 To help people currently doing it tough, Liam (11) put on a piano concert for his friends and family and donated the funds raised to the Salvos. On Friday, Lia...m and his sister visited the Salvos to learn about the work that we do and how the funds he raised wil help others. Thank you Liam, we hope we get to hear you play one day! See more
