25.01.2022 OCTOBER IS DYSLEXIA AWARENESS MONTH During the month of October, we come together as a nation to raise awareness about the struggles, needs and signs of dysle...xia to help educate and support those within our community who may suffer from or don’t understand this language-based learning disability. With 1 in 5 people being affected by dyslexia it is more important than ever before that we educate those who are unfamiliar with this learning disability and support those who are affected. For more information about dyslexia, how it can be identified, the different types of dyslexia and the support we at Learnersaurus can provide you and your dyslexic learner head to our website to read our FAQ’s or contact us directly via our website ‘Contact’ page.

19.01.2022 BUSTING THE MYTHS ABOUT DYSLEXIA It’s Dyslexia Awareness month! So we wanted to take time to debunk some of the many misconceptions about dyslexia. ** Save th...is post for future reference** MYTH #1 . While some children with dyslexia do write their letters backwards, some don’t. MYTH #2 . Incorrect, dyslexia is a neurological condition, genetic in origin. MYTH #3 . While intervention makes a big difference in helping dyslexic individuals learn to read it is a lifelong learning disability. MYTH #4 . Reading at home and being exposed to reading is important for all children’s learning development. However, dyslexia doesn’t occur because of a lack of exposure to reading. MYTH #5 . The amount of effort your child puts into their reading has nothing to do with their ability to read. Research has proven that the brain functions differently in individuals with dyslexia. Therefore, it’s the type of instructions and way of teaching that will make the biggest impact.
