25.01.2022 With the recent easing of restrictions, some things at Hurl’s have reverted back to pre-lockdown 2.0. Swipe for info. It is still important to continue to adhere to all COVIDSafe guidelines. All gym members must scan their Hurl’s key tag upon each visit. This is what we use to trace attendance. ... All PT clients attendance is recorded based on scheduled appointments. 25.01.2022 #Repost @bbutlerb My client Heath is now in the later stages of his calf rehab. Over the past couple of years he has had recurrent calf and achilles strains from running. Up until now he hasn't had a graded strength program to restore the appropriate load capacity to tolerate running and prevent injury. Soleus takes 6.5-8.0x BW force during running (dorn 2014) and achilles 4.5-8.0x BW (Sinclair 2015). Bodyweight calf raises and single leg squats may not be enoug...h to prevent injury. 03.01.2022 As a valued member of Hurl’s Fitness, your well-being is of great importance to us. Following on from our email sent on Wednesday, we just want to thank everyone who has assisted us in keeping the gym as clean as possible. We continue to mop floors twice daily, sanitise equipment multiple times per day, use disinfectant on DB and BB/door handles/water fountain/etc, keep as much air flow through the studio as possible, supply soap and hand sanitizers for good hand health and s...upply disinfectant spray/paper towel/antibacterial wipes to wipe equipment down. Ways in which you can assist us to keep a safe training environment are: Bring a large towel and use on benches/mats/etc. Avoid contact with face. Wash/sterilise your hands upon entry and exit in/out of the studio. Wipe down all equipment before and after use. Please bring your own drink bottle. Sanitise lockers after use. If unwell, please reconsider training and at a minimum, always cough/sneeze in to elbow crease. Please allow 14 days before training if you have recently returned from overseas. Staying healthy and exercising regularly is a really important reality of life, especially right now. We are really proud of the space and service we can provide our members. To continue to train in an environment that is being maintained at a high standard of cleanliness, but allows you some social distancing within a training environment and with your own equipment, is a great benefit that we can provide. 01.01.2022 From midday, Monday 23rd March, Hurl’s Fitness will unfortunately be closed for business until further notice. We feel for everyone affected by this closure; our members, our trainers, our allied health service providers, but also know that this is a situation felt across all industries. Whilst we were optimistic that gyms would be put on the essentials list considering the importance of exercise, especially at a time like this, it’s evident that all timelines have been pus...hed forward to curb this worldwide pandemic. At time of writing this email, we are unsure of when we will be able to re-open the gym, and like all other small business owners, are hopeful that closures are not long term. Until then, we will be: - Suspending all payments for fortnightly and monthly gym memberships. - Cancelling all in-gym personal training sessions until further notice. - Delivering training options via Facetime, Skype etc. More information to follow shortly. - If you have paid for an upfront membership, the time the gym is closed will be added on the other side, when we re-open. Communications already received by the gym are currently being responded to. I just wanted to say a big thank you to members who have advised us to keep payments coming from their accounts to support the business. At a time like this, we are very appreciative of this gesture, and if this is something that you would like to do, please shoot us through an email to [email protected] and we can keep your account running. I am also very mindful that some of our members will find themselves out of work, and understand that this is not an option, hence, why to keep payments continuing, you need to opt-in. We will continue to keep communicating as much as possible, and when more news comes to hand. I would encourage you to keep in regular contact with your trainers and continue to exercise to the best of your abilities and situation. Please keep healthy, respect social distancing rules and regulations, support local businesses where possible and be mindful of your actions to ensure the safety and health of your loved ones.
