25.01.2022 This studio outbuilding was to be created as a reflection of an existing house that was previously renovated by Hurren Architects. A quiet, contemplative space was required for the owners to use as a art studio, but also adding additional living space amongst the gardens. The painted weatherboard building consists of a large studio, art room and shower room.

23.01.2022 This newly constructed stone house brings a flavour of the Mediterranean to the Adelaide Hills. The sloping site allowed for the house to step down in levels providing that quintessential Tuscan feel and some interesting separated outdoor living spaces. Local Adelaide Hill’s stone and terracotta roof tiles complete this theme fulfilling the client’s brief. Inside there are three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, library, dining room, kitchen/eating area, large living space and a media room. Outside includes a large balcony, two terraces, garage forecourt and a two car garage which is linked to the house.

22.01.2022 ‘Informal, unembellished structure and a design that makes sense of the surrounding, sloping landscape’ was the client’s brief for this Adelaide Hills home. This new build could be described as organic with a rough render finish both externally and internally. The building is only 15 years old but has mellowed to a look of age and house well lived in for centuries. A rustic, circular central staircase acts as a core, and wings of this home are presented at various levels cre...ating an irregularity that makes for very interesting spaces. Doors have been kept to a minimum allowing these spaces simply flow. The lower levels have a light filled living area conservatory that links through to the library, an informal living space and separate kitchen. Also, on the lower level there is a separate studio, bathroom, entrance hall, double garage and laundry. Meandering upstairs you’ll find a children’s wing consisting of three bedrooms and large bathroom. On the other side of the curved stairwell is the parent’s wing, with a master bedroom suite, luxurious en suite and dressing room. 07.01.2022 Creating an enclosure for this Adelaide Hills lap pool was an opportunity to combine environment, space and function. Visually, the divided roof line captivates the eye, allowing the north facing panels to house solar panels while the south facing glass panels allow light to fill the space. Steel framing conceals cabling throughout the enclosure and encases the double glazed windows around the perimeter. 06.01.2022 The original building on this city fringe corner block was demolished to make way for two attached dwellings. The client wanted the entire building to look like one entity, so the design solution was an apartment that overlooked the street frontage and a second that overlooked the park behind (featured here). Additionally, the brief was to create a house reminiscent of the client’s European childhood home. This was achieved by mortar smear on the exterior brick face and half ...round terracotta roof tiles. The lower level of the park facing apartment features garaging, a cellar and stairs to the upper level. The large open plan kitchen/dining/living/bar area is the core of this apartment. The main bedroom includes his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms, the guest bedroom includes an en suite and both bedrooms have private balconies. The upper level apartment also has a study, with private balcony, a powder room, Butler’s kitchen, separate laundry and a large patio/balcony. See more

04.01.2022 Situated on a main road, and with a future use as a rental property, the client brief was to minimise noise from the road and keep the design clean and simple. The exterior wall panels are stylish, insulated Bondor, for simplified construction, complemented by two skillion rooflines. The windows facing the busy road are fixed panels that allow light but minimise noise. The house itself includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms plus a powder room, home theatre/kitchen/dining space linked by a courtyard to a living room, separate laundry and double garage.
