22.01.2022 Order of Service today.

22.01.2022 As restrictions are being eased. This is a good time to reach out to those who might be struggling with isolation and loneliness. This is a helpful resource (around 4 minutes).

22.01.2022 If perpetrators were repentant, forgiveness would come more easily. But too often they are not. And so both victim and perpetrator are imprisoned in the auto...matism of mutual exclusion, unable to forgive or repent and united in a perverse communion of mutual hate. - Volf In Miami when the protesters approached the police officers knelt and asked for their forgiveness. People began crying and embracing one another. Humble confession of sin opens the door to forgiveness and hopefully reconciliation. May we see more of this in our world.

21.01.2022 Heres a letter updating you on whats happening with in-person church and why.

20.01.2022 As Berala Public School celebrates "R U OK" tomorrow, it's good to be looking out for, and caring for people in "survival" mode. Why not check out "The Depress...ion Project" and a daily strategy to help fight depression? https://thedepressionproject.com/daily-strategies (Thanks Will Mitchell for the link)

19.01.2022 Today in History - A Glimpse into CIM/OMF Missionaries who Lost Their Lives in 1900 - (1900) Mr. & Mrs. Peter Alfred Ogren were from Sweden.... They laboured six years in areas beyond the Great Wall. In the spring of 1899 this young couple set up a mission station at Yung-Ning, Shanxi and joined the CIM team about a year later. From Mid-July of 1900, this family of three experienced much suffering and humiliation during three months of fleeing imprisonment and cross-examination. Peter Ogren died of multiple wounds and starvation on Oct 15th in Pingyang at the age of 26. Mrs. Ogren nursed their dying son back to life and gave birth to a baby girl in early December. Peter Alfred Ogren189919001900710152612 Starvation had worn him to mere skin and bone. I do not know how many bed-sores he had; and one deep spear wound had not yet healed. There was a sort of poor comfort in thinking that his body would never again suffer torture at the hands of Boxers. 19.01.2022 As an experienced humanitarian worker, I have been analysing news and NGO reports for a sense of how COVID-19 is impacting the world. Its a shocking picture. T...he United States is nearing 100,000 deaths. Overwhelmed gravediggers in Kano, Nigeria, counter government claims there of low death tolls. Desperate health officials across Latin America report health systems on the verge of total collapse. Patients fight for their lives next to body bags in Mumbais hospital wards. Birthing mothers in Addis Ababa are turned away from maternity clinics because they cannot supply their own PPE. Doctors Without Borders is running the only covid clinic in the bombed out capital of war torn Yemen. Indigenous peoples in the Amazon basin are in grave danger of being quite literally wiped out. Millions of slum dwellers, packed into unhygienic shanties, feel like sitting ducks. Migrant labourers daily wages have totally dried up. Refugees fleeing conflicts face closed borders. Victims of sex trafficking are further hidden by lockdowns. Children, who may be less vulnerable to the virus, are now most at risk of the hunger and poverty it is unleashing. We must remember that this crisis doesnt end for anyone, until it ends for everyone.

19.01.2022 Todays order of service. The first section in the blue box talks about the different ways we can engage in our church services. We are encouraging all of us to be benefited by "churching" together whether through coming in person or watching with others online or in a small group. We have changed (and hopefully improved) our pre-registration system. Please register each time you want to come in person onto our church grounds. When weve reached capacity, the form will disp...lay " FULL" for the relevant gathering. At the moment, theres still space for Sunday 4pm however weve reached capacity for 9:30am. Thanks for understanding. If youve received your membership card, please remember to bring it with you as you sign-in. Also, well have a question and answer session after the sermon on the topic of church (or anything you want). Please send in your questions to 0403191552.

09.01.2022 Happy Easter to all of you. Today is Good Friday because God has made a way for all our shame and guilt to be washed clean. We'd love for you to join us to reflect on this this morning and on Sunday morning. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

04.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day. National Sorry Day came from one of the recommendations from the Bringing them Home Report released in 1997. Today is the day on th...e nations calendar where we remember the Stolen Generations. "And every morning as the sun came up the whole family would wail. They did that for 32 years until they saw me again. Who can imagine what a mother went through? But you have to learn to forgive." - Inscription at Colebrook Blackwood Reconciliation Park There was my Mother still down on her knees, the scene that I saw broke my heart as though somebody has pierced my heart with a sharp knife, Mother down on her knees and Granny frail old woman put her arms around her Daughter trying to comfort her both crying, tears streaking down my cheeks as we drove away, and that scene has remained with me as I was growing up, it was the last time Ive seen them and they were never to be seen again. - Connie Cole

04.01.2022 We begin a new series on the fruit of the Spirit. Hope to see you at church this morning.
