24.01.2022 Immensely proud of this young man testing his limits of physical and mental strength over 24 hours of non-stop riding. Completed around the 3.8km loop of Centennial Park through day and night with the odd passing shower (just solid rain!) and a lot of mash potato! What a way to raise awareness and funds for mental health. Absolutely inspirational! @blackdoginst & @lung_club The support out there was incredible to see with riders tagging along for various sections throughou...t the 24 hours. Spirits were high! 24.01.2022 We Challenge You! _______________________________________ This week the squad & guests (all welcome) are tackling the Mona Fartlek. _______________________________________... The Mona Fartlek was a training session that the famous Australian long-distance runner, Steve Monaghetti, would regularly do on the lead up to races. It is a structured fartlek session and a popular one too. It goes as follows: 2x90s; 4x60s; 4x30s; 4x15s; These are the efforts followed by the exact same amount of recovery float. i.e. 90s Hard, 90s Easy, 90s Hard, 90s Easy, 60s Hard, 60s Easy and so on. Measure the total distance traveled. _______________________________________ Now its your turn....

21.01.2022 We Challenge You! _______________________________________ New week, new challenges. As we all head further into isolation keeping focused and healthy is becoming more important. Here are a couple of honest challenges. _______________________________________... Bike Challenge Its all about the watts per kg (sorry to those without a smart trainer or power meter). The set is 4x5mins with 5mins easy recovery between each rep. Record your average power for each 5mins. Add these up and divide by 4. This is your average power across the 4x5mins efforts. Now divide by your weight. This is your Watts per Kilo and the score to send over. _______________________________________ Run Challenge 60min Aerobic + 3km TT Run: The 3km is the time to report so it can be added to the leaderboard. The key is being honest so no pausing watch etc. and try and keep it as flat as possible.
