18.01.2022 Meet Tilly, our resident distillery dog and official Morning Tea Supervisor. 11.01.2022 Little Herbert was born at Husk Farm Distillery earlier this year & had a rocky start in life when his birth-mum didn’t take a shine to him. Luckily Mandy our co-founder took over mum duties, feeding & nurturing young Herbie. He’s growing up big, strong and spoilt. Husk Rum cattle eat all our distillery waste - spent botanicals, stillage & oranges - and are a vital part of the paddock to process

11.01.2022 This absolute legend @hayden_quinn recently visited Husk when filming his new series @tasteofaustraliahq. 09.01.2022 It’s Quentin’s birthday today, and he got an early present at last nights Australian Distilled Spirits Awards... Husk Pure Cane came home with a gold medal! Some of the comments from the judges: A day at the coast with seared scallops, salmon skin, tomato sugo and rock salt. This 'rum' is all about the savoury tones with saline intermingling with soft herbs and clay. ... More citrus emerges on the palate but the finish is really where the spirit shines showing mandarin pith, orange oil and marshmellow. Hooray for flavour! So much natural, funky goodness jumping out of this. We love this full flavoured spirit - it’s how all our rums start. Amazing with ginger beer or in daiquiris, caipirinhas & cocktails, we’re stoked it’s taken out gold this year. See more

08.01.2022 All hail the Daq! The daiquiri has been mixed in many different ways over the years... frozen, fruity, festive. But our favourite version is the classic, where the flavours of the spirit can really shine through. It’s such a simple cocktail - just white rum, fresh lime juice and sugar - so you have to get the balance of flavours just right. Practise makes perfect and when you nail it, you know it... thanks to @liquid.sugar.drinks See more

07.01.2022 Change is coming.... get ready for the new taste of Australian rum. Thanks to James & Australian Gourmet Traveller for the write up. "It's hard to imagine, but it was only a few years ago that gin was still trying to shed its reputation as ‘mother’s ruin’ and the favoured nightcap of geriatric women.... Rum has a similarly colourful past in Australia as the colonial spirit of last resort, guzzled by contemporaries at ute musters and rural ‘bachelor and spinster’ balls, and even made the scapegoat for violent behaviour. Certainly, it has never been perceived as something you’d want to sip and savour. But Quentin Brival of Husk Distillers (huskdistillers.com) in Tumbulgum, northern New South Wales, believes change is coming. When I arrived in Australia five or six years ago, people would tell me, ‘I don’t drink gin. It makes me sad,’ he recalls. Now gin is probably the most trendy spirit category in Australia. https://app.gourmettravellerwine.com//making-a-rumback-spi
