24.01.2022 Update - thanks to those that passed on the news she has been found.. I know this isn’t Arctic related but please keep an eye out for missing Frankie in the Alex Hills area. I heard this tragic story on the news this morning and immediately had chills up my spine and burst into tears... there has to be some good news to come from this...
24.01.2022 THIS SUNDAY!! We are still on the hunt for some volunteers for Colour Frenzy at North Lakes this Sunday! It’s an early kick off but heaps of fun! No surprise that it’s been a tough year coin wise, and this is a huge fundraiser for us and we can’t thank the Colour Frenzy team enough.... So please if you’re able to come help, we’d love to hear from you!!

21.01.2022 THEY JUST KEEP ON GIVIN’.... Kim from SavourLife got in touch last week and said Hey, can we donate some food? And we were all like Hell yes you can! - you don’t say no when your fave food company offers up some great quality stuff... We were expecting 3 or 4 bags, which we would be so grateful for, but half a pallet rocks up! These guys are the bomb! They’ve donated probably over $10,000 to us through their business model rescue donation scheme, started up the Adopt-a-Do...g platform for rescues to use free of charge and now this! Thanks to Michael and Kim and the whole team for your ongoing support to Australian rescues in general. Maya here is quite chuffed with her breakfast goodies. So 2 take home messages here people - #1 is make sure you support those that support us. SavourLife range of dry food and treats is available online and also at stores such as Petbarn. #2 is Maya is available for adoption and is subtly putting that out there
20.01.2022 This young female husky was found wandering around Wulkuraka this morning. She is microchipped but unfortunately the details are not up to date. She has been taken to the ICC pound.

19.01.2022 Those of you who have been following our page for a while would remember this face... we are sorry to say that Hawkeye passed away with his beloved Mum Bek by his side on Friday night. We would like to once again thank each and everyone of you who helped us through getting Hawkeye well again after what we were presented with at Mackay pound all those years ago. Most of all Bek, we thank you and Yancy for showing him 6 years of love and what life really can be. Rest easy Hawkeye and wear your silver harness with pride. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
19.01.2022 WELCOME PABLO!! By your powers combined, you have helped us take Pablo into our care! He is moving in to his foster carers’ digs next week, but as you can imagine, a shelter is no place for this senior citizen.. Cue Chloe to the rescue with busting Pablo out and the ever-willing Nicky of the Butner-Johnson pack fame with a temporary place to lay his head, and cause a little bit of senior citizen trouble in the meantime.... Thanks to everyone who offered us help with Pablo. It’s always heartwarming to see how willing everyone is to help the golden oldies! We don’t yet know what the future holds, as to whether Pablo is put up for adoption or stays in our Twilight Sanctuary program, but we will let you all know how he transforms with a bit of TLC...

16.01.2022 ADOPTED! RUBIX Siberian Husky 2 year old Male... Location Redbank Plains Adoption Fee: $450 (Includes GST, desexing, current C5 vaccination, negative heartworm test and microchipping transferred to new owners) QLD Supply # BIN0000139144842 It will go down in history as one of the most brain-bending, frustrating and yet rewarding enrichment activities of all time the Rubik’s Cube. Well it is 2020 people, so with a slight spelling upgrade, I am pleased to introduce myself as the canine version of that very puzzle. You see, I am just like a Rubik’s Cube. Some people might find me frustrating and just don’t get me. I am a young husky so that is no surprise. I am full of beans and always on the go (my photos should give that hint). If left to my own devices for too long with no stimulation, then I tend to find things to chew on I must have my own range of allowable items to chew on, otherwise I will choose my own. But if you keep at me, keep working on it and stick to it, then I promise I am very rewarding once you figure me out, and then there is no stopping us! My world revolves around 3 things People, Treats and Fun. Whilst I am as friendly as they come, my people need to be school aged or older just due to my high energy levels and bounciness. If I people that were home more often than not and included me as a member of the family, then all my wildest dreams would have come true! And who doesn’t love fun right? Even though I am little (about 18kg), I really am a true pocket rocket. I pull like the little engine that could on lead and I do love a good doggy play date. Any small pets or animals need to be kept away from me, they provide a good incentive to chase and catch! If I were to be an only dog, I could be happy with people home most of the day and doggy friends that I can catch up with from time to time. Otherwise I would also be happy with a medium to large canine brother or sister who like a good play time but are also easy going. I don’t ask for much, huh? If you have ever loved a Husky, like a real ridgey-didge one in every sense of the word, then you will understand me. I am a young, live life to the max boy who is a true representative of my breed. I am probably not really your best starter Husky and would probably do really well in sports like sled racing. Like most Huskies, I have lots of energy to burn, will need secure 6ft fences with no gaps to squeeze through and won’t suit a home with cats and other small pets. In the end, I can promise a life full of fun with me and just like the cube, all the effort you put into me will be returned tenfold once you figure me out and know just how I work. If this all sounds like you, then please let me know your interest by following the link to my form at www.shamroq.org.au/adoption Photos by Charlotte Reeves Photography

13.01.2022 UPDATE - RETURNED SAFE Not quite an Arctic but please keep an eye out for missing Police Dog around Regents Park area..
13.01.2022 WELCOME SAPPHIRE (SAFFY TO HER MATES).... With lockdown looming, this little Miss entered the SHAMROQ family. Now before you all get excited, she’s all sorted for foster care and if she plays her cards right we have short odds on foster fail! But that doesn’t mean we can’t introduce you to her sweet little face. Thanks to Nicky for transportation and temporary care. Although going by the photo they’ve sent us, she found who the best treat giver is in the household pretty quic...k. Saffy is as sweet as she looks and a dream houseguest. She has come to us due to a sad event in her family and not being suited to the farm life with various livestock around and inadequate fences other family members have.... but never fear, we are here to make sure her future is bright! Welcome to the family Sapphire!
13.01.2022 TRANSPORT REQUEST: Plainlands - Collingwood Park We have a wayward traveler hitching a ride from afar on Fri afternoon (27/11). His lift is going as far as Plainlands and will arrive somewhere around 2-3pm ( to be confirmed during trip). We are looking for someone who can please complete his trip to his foster home in Collingwood Park. If you can help us out, please let us know!
12.01.2022 Welcome Harlow!! If Facebook had a smell this function, it would not have been so popular when Harlow arrived in care straight from surrender at the local pound. Her woolly coat was also quite matted and in need of desperate TLC. After being in temp care with our ever wonderful Butner-Johnson pack, Harlow has moved into foster care on the Southside and has now had 2 visits with our groomer/Carer/adopter/transporter superstar Teresa... ... And now.... OMG, its so fluffy!! (and more pleasant scented...) Keep your eyes peeled for 6 year old Harlow’s adoption profile coming in the next few weeks once all her vet work is done
12.01.2022 MUCHO GRACIAS! AN AKITA SIZED THANK YOU!! Each year the admin team of the Akita Australia team put together a fundraising calendar and donate the proceeds to rescue groups who have taken in Akitas in that year.... This year they raised a huge amount and kindly donated $500 of that to us here at Shamroq! ... If you have an Akita, or aspire to have one, make sure you join the group as they have a wealth of knowledge and general fellow Akita owning discussion. We are also grateful that they hold the same values we do in regards to responsible pet ownership and sourcing. Group link - https://www.facebook.com/groups/241402169391113/?ref=share

10.01.2022 FOSTER CARER NEEDED - INTRODUCING LULU 8 year old Lulu was surrendered to a regional pound recently and we would like to be able to help her find her forever family. We haven’t met her yet and don’t know a lot, busy we do know she’s very sad and missing her family. Lulu will require some vet attention for some apparent skin issues so we will need someone able to take her to one of our regular vets. ... Until recently Lulu has lived with another male Malamute so she may be social with medium to large easy going male dogs. She is not compatible with cats and due to food guarding won’t be good for small children either. Fences will need to be relatively dig proof. If you are in the SEQ area and can help us to help Lulu, please go to www.Shamroq.org.au/foster - if you’ve already done this in the past and nothing has changed, then please just send us a PM.
09.01.2022 Akita roaming around Noosa area..
09.01.2022 One of our all adopters, foster carers and all round awesome friends Kim has set up a Scentsy Fundraiser for us.. As you can imagine, times are pretty tough here right now with the limitations on fundraising ventures and everything else going on, so we are so appreciative! Please join the group, it runs until the 23rd Oct and grab yourself some goodies. Christmas is only 3 months away people!! ... https://m.facebook.com/groups/shamroqfundraiser/
09.01.2022 TED Alaskan Malamute 5 year old Male Location - Jacobs Well Adoption Fee - $450 (Includes GST, desexing, current C5 vaccination, and microchipping transferred to new owners)... QLD Supply # BIN0000139144842 Ted, Teddy, Teddy Bear I am known by all and one look at me and you’ll know why. Some Teddies are for hugging for comfort, some are for companionship and some are for looking at cos they are so darn cute. In this case, I am all of the above and who knows, in helping heal me from my past, you may just find yourself being a little healed in the process too. You see I am an introvert and I am search of a very special, specific and understanding home. Steady she goes and I promise in time that you will be rewarded tenfold. What I need is the quiet life. A home with no loud children or boisterous dogs. I currently live with another female Malamute, but she knows that loud barking and overbearing behavior scares me, so lets me be. I do have some mild hip dysplasia which is being managed with gentle exercise so a short 30-minute stroll most days will suit me just fine. On the plus side, it also means that I have no inclination to jump or climb so secure fences over 4ft will be sufficient. I would love a home where I can lay my days away in my spot in the garden but come inside for a belly scratch and treat too. You may call me a scaredy cat, but I have not been tested with an actual one, or with any other smaller pets for that matter. So, these should be approached with caution and any cats should be able to be kept securely separate. I won’t be a suitable companion for any small dogs. You should also know that I have an aversion to car rides and small enclosed spaces. But with some coaxing, I will settle once you get me in there. I don’t think I will ever be any grey nomad’s travelling companion though, that’s for sure. It does seem like I have a bit of a specific and targeted list on the type of home that I am on the hunt for. But the right one is out there looking for me, I just know it! And the SHAMROQ girls tell me that I really deserve the very best. My redo on life starts now and I will be leaving the past behind me where it belongs! If you have read this and just know that you are the ones for me, then please go to www.shamroq.org.au/adoption and let’s take it from there. 03.01.2022 BRAX 2010 - 2020 Sometimes they are here for a good time, and not a long one. Braxie was only a Shamroq dog for a couple of weeks, but in those weeks he knew so much love and got to experience how it’s meant to be. At first he hung out up the Coast with our foster heroes, The Butner-Johnson pack before settling in for longer term care with previous adopter, Gem.... We will never know what actually happened, but Brax enjoyed walks and play time with his foster brother and settled on his foster parents bed at night. He laid down his head today on his dog bed and drifted over the Rainbow Bridge. We thank both foster families for what they have done for Brax recently, and Buddy, wear your silver harness with pride. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever x
03.01.2022 Does this dog belong to anyone? It ran through my house, chasing my cat and my kids are scared! Zephyr street, Griffin. This is not the first time the dog has been seen wondering the streets.
02.01.2022 Please welcome 10 year old Brax to the Shamroq family!! With thanks to the Butner Johnson Pack, Brax arrived into care on Thursday from a regional pound. A huge thanks must also go to Deb and Nicole for playing Woo-ber drivers and busting out this cutie patootie! Brax is still seeking longer term foster care and is definitely as sweet as he looks. Check out his photo in the Foster Carer Needed album for more info.
02.01.2022 SOOOO, WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENIN'?? It has been a little quiet here on the ol' book, but appearances can be deceiving! Whilst the world went a little cray cray and tends to drop in and out of some sort of normal (whatever that may be), a few of us here at SHAMROQ have had our own little life changing events going on too. Don't worry, all is well but there has been a bit of upheaval, some new starts and some new little faces that have entered the world all at once. The cogs have k...ept turning here and the dogs are still all here with their dedicated carers, but social media took a bit of a backseat. We have welcomed some new furry faces into the SHAMROQ family, sadly have said Goodbye to some too and some have gone on to find their new families (eg Mowgli pictured here who fell victim to the old 'Foster Fail'). We are working on updating all their profiles and info for you all to see! Many of you would be aware that the joy that is COVID brought lots of down time for some and all your emails and applications kind of blew up our systems. Some of this non-urgent correspondence is still being worked through now. Sadly as we start to see a light at the end of this tunnel, we are now also receiving record surrender request numbers as people are forced to change their living situations. We have always had the mantra that any ex-SHAMROQ dogs that need us will always be taken back into care, but unfortunately we are still typically unable to accommodate private surrenders. So in a nutshell - we are still here, business as usual and if you are waiting to hear from us, we are getting there! We have also made the decision due to the current social climate that Mally Muster will not go ahead this year in it's usual format, but we may look at getting together for a social walk fundraiser a little later in the year. Thanks for all the support as usual! Mowgli's photo brought to you by Hairypants Photography
02.01.2022 Have you got your tickets yet? Drawn this Sunday!! All of those of you who have purchased - Thank you! We will email your numbers out prior to drawing

01.01.2022 TRANSPORT REQUEST CABOOLTURE- VICTORIA POINT We have a girl on the move Tues 2nd Feb. She will need to meet transport at Caboolture at 10am and head down to Victoria Point If you can help, please let us know... Thanks!
01.01.2022 TRIGGER Siberian Husky 10 year old Male Location Caboolture Adoption Fee: Donation to SHAMROQ (Includes GST, desexing, current C5 vaccination and microchipping transferred to new owners)... QLD Supply # BIN0000139144842 Howdy partners.... Trigger the Husky here and ready and waiting for my new home! I might be a bit of a ‘Golden Oldie’ as some may say, but is there such a thing for Huskies? I think not we don’t age and are the eternal toddlers of the canine world. I am a bit of a lovable but cheeky ol’ man that you just can’t get enough of! You might think that at 10 years old I would be over the Houdini stuff yeah nah... I can still dig my way out with the best of them, especially if there are storms about or if I am left to my own devices for days on end. Give me some human company and a place inside with you and it won’t be such an issue. Dig proof 5ft fences though will be on my checklist. I don’t mind sharing my home with another dog if I must; I have been with others before. As long as we have our own places to eat then it is ok, medium sized or larger is best. I am also happy to be an only dog if my people are home lots and include me in day to day life. I have been around children too and I would be fine with any that are old enough to know how to kindly treat the family dog. No dog is bombproof with kids and like any other dog, supervision is the key! I am untested with cats so best not tempt fate there! I have been behind the scenes with SHAMROQ for a while now. I came into care with pesky Heartworm but thanks to the dedication of my foster families, I have finished treatment and have a new lease on life! I have my bags packed ready for just the right family to come along, is that you? If so please go to www.shamroq.org.au/adoption and let’s get crackin’! Photos by Little Paws Photography
