23.01.2022 Thank you, Victoria.
08.01.2022 From 11:59pm, we're taking some big steps in reopening our state. I've listed some of the changes below. I also wanted to say thank you. ... Nothing about this year has been easy. Victorians and Melburnians especially have sacrificed so much and done it so tough. And this success really does belong to you.
06.01.2022 Good, clean fun.
06.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just wanted to check in after a big week of changes. Monday probably feels like a month ago and plenty has moved in the last few days. We're sl...owly getting back to the things we enjoy. The people we've missed. Those simple pleasures sacrificed for the greater good. It's exciting. We've worked so hard and waited so long for this. But for lots of people the joy is mixed in with other emotions. There's no right or wrong way to feel in this situation, and a bit of anxiety or uncertainty as we ease back into things is totally natural. Everyone's experience of this pandemic is different so be gentle and go easy. That goes for yourself as well as others. Just a couple of quick points about the coming weeks and months: I've seen some people on here claim the pandemic is over because we had two 'zero' days. As much as we'd all like that to be true, it's simply not the case. The virus is still out there. There are still active cases. And there may still be chains of transmission that we don't yet know about. On the flip side, the fact that we had three cases yesterday and four today is not cause for alarm. Obviously we want to get the numbers very low and keep them that way. That's the strategy. But getting a small number of new cases doesn't mean the plan has failed. We all need to be careful and vigilant and respond quickly to any outbreaks but not panic. I've also seen some worrying comments saying that people should just stop getting tested. That is the direct opposite of what you should do. The key to making this work is to get tested the moment you start to experience symptoms. Don't wait 24 or 48 hours and go about your business in between. Don't go to work. Don't catch up with friends. This is not something you can keep secret and hope for the best. The virus won't let you do that. And the longer you wait, the further it spreads and the worse off we all are as a result. Getting tested early keeps your family and friends, your colleagues and community safe. That's how we'll stay open and protect our state. Each and every decision we make, however small it might seem, adds up to what we've built. Something that's precious but equally fragile. And we all have a part to play in preserving everything we've achieved. Have a good weekend and stay safe.
