21.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

18.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT NSWORP 2020 NSW OFF ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP - CANCELLED! Due to the current COVID 19 Pandemic it is with deep regret that Off Road NSW have made the decision to cancel the 2020 NSW State Off Road Championship.... The cancellation of the 2020 NSW State Off Road Championship is in line with the cancellation of other major events across the Nation and worldwide, with the aim to limit the spread of COVID 19. This is not a decision that was made lightly, but after much deliberation and consultation by Off Road NSW Panel Members. To assist any NSW Club that is still in a position where they are able to hold an event in 2020, although the Championship is cancelled, Off Road NSW will be making a financial contribution to assist each club with the additional COVID 19 measures that are required to be put in place to minimise the burden on NSW clubs. The health and safety of our competitors, volunteers & spectators is our number one priority. I take the opportunity to include all of you in the sentiment that NSW State Off Road Championship will return bigger, better and safer in 2021. For any further information please contact your local Off Road NSW Panel Member. Yours sincerely, N.S.W Off Road Panel

16.01.2022 Cancelled MMC 2020 event update! As you can see the water has receded this afternoon and nothing was going to get through Rod’s crossing!

16.01.2022 A letter from the CEO, Eugene Arocca 16 March, 2020 I would like to take the opportunity to write to you to provide an update on COVID-19 and its impact on motorsport more broadly. As you would no doubt be aware, the situation is constantly changing and evolving and an internal working group at Motorsport Australia is regularly meeting to monitor the situation. We plan to send out regular updates to you, our members, as necessary to provide any important information.... While some larger events have been cancelled or postponed, at this stage, I can confirm that a number of Motorsport Australia sanctioned events will continue with our support, in line with any government restrictions and also with suitable precautions in place. Some of these precautions are expected to include, but will not be limited to: Encouraging social distancing (standing 1.5m away from others) Providing drivers’ and officials’ briefings electronically Communicating to participants at all levels that if they are unwell, they must stay away from the venue The provision of hand sanitisers and hand washing facilities at events In times like these, it is important that we can enjoy our sport in a safe and practical way, while ensuring good hygiene and social distancing practices are maintained. We will also contact our clubs, event organisers and promoters with key information that will help protect those participating in events in the coming weeks and months. Motorsport Australia encourages all participants, whether officials, competitors, licence holders and event organisers to remain extremely vigilant and practice good hygiene, including the use of hand sanitiser. Some helpful resources include the Department of Health’s COVID-19 site, which can be accessed by clicking here. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) has also prepared some informative content for those involved in sport, which can be found by clicking here. If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our membership hotline or via replying to this email. Regards, Eugene Arocca Motorsport Australia CEO

09.01.2022 Vale Dave & Gwen Ellem Monday, 13 July 2020 It is with great sadness that we inform the off road family of the passing of two of our long time dedicated volunteers. ... Dave (Fingers) Ellem passed away today and his wife Gwen passed three weeks ago. Dave was highly regarded through the 80s and 90s as the starter for Australian Off Road Championship, state and club level events, hence his nickname Fingers. His uncanny ability to countdown and wave competitors from the startline was second to none. HVORRA remember Dave as he was our race starter at the Milbrodale Mountain Classic in the early years. Thank you Dave and Gwen for all your dedication to the sport of Off Road Racing. Our thoughts are with Steph and family at this sad time. Dave was also a regular on the Stewarding circuit across various disciplines motorsport. Dave and Gwen are survived by their daughter Steph and grandchildren Byron, Ash and Fallon. Funeral details will be available shortly, however, the funeral home will be livestreaming the service.

07.01.2022 So these are the creeks at Milbrodale yesterday 26th July, (original date for the 2020 MMC). Maybe we just were not meant to have the Milbrodale Mountain Classic this year! They say things happen for a reason.

Due to Trans Moto not repairing parts of the offroad track we intended to use for this event 3. Covid restrictions in NSW will not lift till 28th Sep allowing state events 4. Having to change our date because of Bathurst 1000 and football changing their dates Event Secretary Murray Bignell See more

05.01.2022 Tatts Finke Desert Race cancellation To Finke competitors, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers, officials, ambassadors and supporters. On behalf of the Finke Desert... Race committee, I regret to advise that the Tatts Finke Desert Race for 2020 has been cancelled. Australian Government advice to restrict gatherings to 500 people or less meant we had no option but to cancel. Additionally travel to Aputula community (Finke) has been restricted so we wouldn’t be able to camp overnight. This is the right decision based on health grounds. http://offroadracing.com.au/index.php
