25.01.2022 Sunday's Training Day is going ahead at this stage. The grounds are a little damp but holding up well. If we get more rain that changes this, we will update here.

25.01.2022 Our Spring Championships once again welcomes Krissy Harris and her TSHA Thoroughbred classes. The generous racing sponsor for this event is FREEDMAN BROTHERS RACING.

25.01.2022 Sunday's Training Day (26th) looks like it will be a wash out , so we will be transferring all entries to SATURDAY 8th August. Entries will be re-opened for edits and additions. If you cannot attend, please delete your entries or message us and you will receive a full refund. Another Training Day will be held on 23rd August and we will open that shortly for new entries. Again, this will be member only until the COVID-19 restrictions ease .

25.01.2022 Many thanks to the hard working Hunter Valley Show Jumping Club for a great Spring Ch'ship weekend. Sue Bettington, as always, built super tracks to encourage ...good jumping from horses and better riding. David Lawrencealso provided great tracks in Ring 2. We had a busy weekend with all ponies jumping well, culminating in Dino winning the Grand Prix and Lucy was 2nd (and yes, there was more than 2 competitors!). Tommy was the thoroughbred king winning both his classes, many thanks to Freedman Bros and Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association for these events. Also a big shout out to Asarri Sootman McPhee and Glen Cutler for the help in the warm ups, and generally being great blokes. Also Natalie De Souza who worked her butt off all weekend with our 7 horses and still managed placings on her own horse. Good to be back in the ring... See more

24.01.2022 Please come along and support your club. We promise we will let you leave at the end of the meeting . The current COVID-19 government health requirements of the day will be followed.

22.01.2022 Our Spring Championships has finally been run and won . Congratulations to all the winners and placegetters throughout the weekend and a big thanks to everyone... that attended, whether competitor, supporter, sponsor or volunteer. Everyone contributes to the running of a successful event. Special thanks to Caroline Cooper from Mitchell Integrated Therapy who once again was our major sponsor and also a champion in the canteen along with her support crew. The weather tried to scare everyone away on Sunday but really couldn't come up with much more than a few drops of rain. Susan Bettington and David Lawrence built great tracks throughout the weekend that tested the competitors whilst producing some super rounds. Karen Paradisi and Amanda Lyall were our tireless judges who kept the rings running smoothly and efficiently. Gate Marshals, Daran, Jenny and Natae are an integral part of the show. I always say that the gate marshals make or break the show. John Gilmour was awesome on the mic as always. Mt Sugarloaf Pony Club stepped up at short notice and supplied our ring crew along with our regular, Liam, and were a valuable asset to the event. Robyn and Kevin Parker are just tireless in their ability to organise and manage the equipment all weekend. Di and Stan covered the event photos. Olive and Amanda ran the JJD scoring in both rings. Brianna, Ashleigh, Sarah, Asarri, Elodie and anyone else I might have missed - THANK YOU for making this another successful event for the Hunter Region and the Hunter Valley Showjumping Club. We strive to produce good quality jumping events for a fair price that is affordable for all levels of the sport from Grass Root through to the Elite, and I think we managed just that, once again . 08.01.2022 ' "" "". "' 80 " "' "... " ' , " How many of us have said something similar to the above? I have uttered every single one of these phrases, and then some. The worst one was when I won a 80cm SJI Championship - I felt so proud, and then this small voice in the back of my head said " ' , ' 80". Today I'm here to tell myself and everyone else that we need to stop saying "only" and "just" when we talk about our efforts and achievements. We work damn hard. We show up in the early mornings, late at night, in rain wind and hail. We worry about our horses' feed, we get physios vets and farriers to mind and monitor them. We read everything on the internet to better educate ourselves, and we get lessons to become the best we can be. We care deeply about our horses and work hard to ride them the best we can. We ride and compete at a level that we are capable of, and that is safe for us to have fun and be competitive at. So no, we are not "just" doing a certain level or class. We worked hard and we have every right to be proud of the journey it took to get there, and of our achievements. There is no threshold for qualification to be considered a "real" rider or competitor. If you enter an arena at A and proceed down the centre line, you are doing dressage. If you enter an arena and jump a course of fences, you are showjumping. If you do a dressage test, jump a course of fences, and go cross country, you are eventing. Do not diminish the work, love and care that you put into this sport. Do not minimise your accomplishments, or belittle what it's taken you to get to where you are today. When you say "just" or "only", you don't just minimise your own accomplishments or put yourself down, you also set an example to others that they too are "just" and "only". You are not "just". You are not "only". You are. So go do it. Enjoy it. Smash it
