10.01.2022 The beginning.. is a very good place to start - I can not help but think of my Mum when I say the beginning, hearing her sing is a very good place to start following this everytime. I don’t know what reference this is from but definitely sums up my childhood full of sayings and song lyrics thrown in randomly. This is however the beginnings of the beautiful leaf bracelet not my memoirs! In these four photos you can see the progression of solid half round wax to the begin...nings of carving out the shapes. For wax work we use a twisted saw blade. This helps move the loose wax shavings out of the cut you are creating whilst you saw. This process can be tedious but not as tedious as the filing to come as seen in the next post! 04.01.2022 The process of creating the shape/details on what was to become the beautiful leaf bracelet was a long. Lots of time spent concentrating on getting the initial shape/ details for the leaf veins correct. As you can see in these photos lots of excess wax was cut, filed and carved away like a sculptor. This was a very rewarding job and actually rather soothing. 01.01.2022 COVID-19 update for Hyacinth Jewellery 19/03/2020 :- Over 3 weeks since we have been back from Japan to our home Australia. The world has changed a lot in this short period of time with COVID-19 making itself heard loud and clear. Hyacinth Jewellery has been running quietly in the back ground the past few weeks and are still on track for those who have commissions with us. Keeping ourselves up to date with the W.H.O. and official Australian Government information/ standards o...f practice during this time and the foreseeable future has been top priority. Hand hygiene/ personal hygiene as well as workplace hygiene is as always at the highest standards and we will remain vigilant to make sure to follow any/all instructions provided by the above governing bodies. I would like to put into writing here that for the foreseeable future we will not be taking in person consultations, deliveries, fittings, etc to abide by the social distancing policy. Those who already have orders will receive them via postal service for FREE rather than in hand (you will be personally notified of this change in email form). Those who wish still to make orders will be charged for postage from now onwards. I would also like to ask, where possible, Card/ bank transfer is preferred at this time over cash for payments to also help prevent contact. We are all in this together and I thank you for your understanding. Slowing down the spread of COVID-19 must become the priority for all.
