25.01.2022 Circa June 2019 After having a pile of blue steel laying around for several months (life gets in the way!) it was time to get the mig welder out and get cracking!

25.01.2022 August 2019 Independent suspension going in and voila!, Its a movable rolling chassis, pretty handy as now i'm about to shift house and its way easier than lifting it onto a trailer to move it!

21.01.2022 September 2019 house move done! New shed, new motivation!...even with house shift stuff everywhere! Guards on and welded (from Huntsman as well) and the upper chassis starts to grow. ... The body frame is now 1800mm wide and 2900mm long including articulation angle clearance on the rear. Need to get it out of the shed, not enough room or natural light!

20.01.2022 March 2019 So...back to the beginning.. Building a hard sided camper, yeah why not!... After a ton of research, google got it's workout and a couple of caravan camping shows I decided I can do this! Hindsight is a wonderful thing, just saying! My sums had me building this project for about $10,000, a saving of around $30,000 over a similar commercially made product and a shite ton of satisfaction that you cant put a price on So here goes! Starting the chassis layout....

12.01.2022 So the story sort of works backwards, oldest post is when I started back mid 2019 I'll throw updates up on hopefully semi regular basis but where its at today is this picture (and yes the interior is still work in progress!!)

10.01.2022 July 2019 Welding chassis together and setting up independent suspension mounts I chose the 1400kg fully independent suspension setup from Huntsman Products out of Melbourne, have seen a few DIY setups and all reports are its pretty good at reasonable $$. ... It has full castor and camber adjustment and Ironman Dampers. A few discussions with Huntsman also gave me the confidence that should I want to upgrade load rating later it is quite easy with their optional parts.

01.01.2022 Late 2019, the frame work and walls start! ...and hydraulic brakes being worked on
