25.01.2022 It’s been a busy 2 years here with dogs: You don’t realise it until you sort the photos: Joker, Barry, Joker (again), Jasmine, Red, Ruby, Albert, and Zoro. Plus there was Des, Lucy and her 8 pups.

25.01.2022 Welcome to the farm our newest foster: Norm, a 6 month old B&T kelpie. . A bit hard to get a proper photo so these will have to do. He’s already made friends with Ralf. Lucy is just a cranky old cow and looks at me like: Why have you done this to me .

24.01.2022 It’s a quiet house tonight with one less dog. our mate Zorro was delivered to his forever home today. We will miss his sniffs and cuddles and I’m sure Ralf and Lucy will miss Ralf’s playmate.

24.01.2022 The lovely Irene, Izzy and Giselle went off to their new homes this morning. Happily it’s only around the corner so we’ll be able to catch up with them at least twice a year.

21.01.2022 I didn’t realise how cute little lambs at play were until we had our own. They’re just as cute as crias.

21.01.2022 On Tuesday Andy had surgery on his shoulder. He will be out of commission for at least 8 weeks but rest assured we will still be shearing this season, albeit a few weeks later than usual.

20.01.2022 Teddy had to make sure Toby was ok during his shearing session on Saturday.

19.01.2022 Meet Zoro. He’s our newest foster. Zoro is an 18 month old kelpie. Full of beans and loves playing with Ralf. He’s also happy to be inside and snoozing on his bed.

18.01.2022 We had a quick visit with Dot this weekend (Ralf’s litter mate). She’s so big now but her tongue is not as long Ralf’s .

17.01.2022 Finally the last ones arrive! Another set of twins.

16.01.2022 Today we said ‘See you later’ to Aphrodite & Juno and Hustle &Jitterbug. They went off to their new home today with a family at Marnong Estate, Mickelham. It’s not goodbye though because we’ll be seeing them on a regular basis for their husbandry, halter training and shearing.

13.01.2022 This is little Norm. He’s such a quick learner and has mastered sitting.

13.01.2022 Young Norm is settling in quite well. He had some sheep fun this morning with Lucy and really enjoyed it.

13.01.2022 Happy Birthday to precious Ralf, Dot, Rocky, Lola, Elsie, Bonnie, Merv and Ted. The last 12 months have been amazing

12.01.2022 2020 has certainly been a very unusual year: drought, fire, flood and virus. Winter is usually market time for us but due to Covid-19 we've made the decision not to attend any markets in 2020. Hopefully things will settle down and we'll back doing a few markets in 2021... In the meantime keep safe, be nice, and respect others.

12.01.2022 The sky was awesome this morning at Pyalong as we headed out shearing. I’ve never seen clouds like this before!

11.01.2022 Isaac is very attentive with his little charges. He’s not sure what to do about the dog barking but he does go straight to the lambs when Ralf barks.

10.01.2022 Daewoo and Allegra headed off to their new home yesterday. They’ve found a lovey spot on the coast with a lovely family and another alpaca friend.

10.01.2022 I had 10 minutes to spare this morning and managed to get a kiss from little Jalopy. He’s now 6.5kg so we’re very happy although even Jitterbug is heavier than him and she’s 2 days old

09.01.2022 Two more lambies today. A boy and a girl. That makes 6 lambs from 3 ewes (200% lambing rate) 5 ewe lambs and 1 ram lamb. Merino x dorper, Black Faced Suffolk x Dorper, and Merino x Black Faced Suffolk. One more ewe to go.

08.01.2022 Alpacas in the mist. Coming up to enjoy their morning ration of Hipwell clover hay.

07.01.2022 The view that will be tomorrow’s job. Boys are all locked up and ready to go. Ready for a 7am start.

06.01.2022 The first 4 alpacas shorn for the season. Our four old boys: Troubadour, Lui, Beau and the amazing Zircon. They’ll be spending the next few nights in the shed to make sure they acclimatise to their new hair cuts safely. Of course we didn’t get before or during pictures. Thanks to our new rousty Sam. He did an amazing job for his first time alpaca wrangling. And of course we didn’t get photos of him either

05.01.2022 Meet Isaac, our herd guard in training. He has 3 pregnant ewes and 1 goat to keep company with. Isaac is 15 months old and sadly is smaller than his ewes and goat. He is very young and very small so not much protection this year for the lambs but we’re hoping he grows enough to be bigger than them next year.

05.01.2022 The herd of girls have been shorn today (all 8 of them ) . Only the herd guards and 2 cria to do. Thanks to Sam (I got a photo this time) for his hard work and help.

05.01.2022 Hurry up girls! We want those lambies out.

04.01.2022 This is what happens when you don’t listen to your husband .....

03.01.2022 The 4 ewes were shorn today (by a sheep shearer, not us). The comment from Andy afterwards is: ‘I’d much rather shear alpacas. Shearing sheep is for people under 40.’

03.01.2022 We’ve had 60ml this month already and I’m just loving how much the grass is growing. Weeds and grass but at least the dirt is covered up with something! some parts are still bare but hopefully something will take hold before summer.

03.01.2022 We’re going to need a bigger sign: Hyde Park Alpacas, Crossbreed Sheep and Dexters and not forgetting Border Collies

02.01.2022 Of course, never forgetting the amazing and crazy Gypsy.

02.01.2022 Andy’s back shearing again! Yay for the alpacas. We did our final 4 today. Old Ginger (16) the two young cria (6 months) and our herd guard, Isaac. They’re all going in with the sheep tonight.

02.01.2022 Cattle crush delivered and assembled, sheep brought in for shearing tomorrow, goat and alpacas along for the ride. Andrew’s Morris picked up and being transported to Sydney (Replaced by Roger the Red Morris Convertible). All in all a normal day at the office.

02.01.2022 Steve’s before and after shot.

01.01.2022 Two more little lambies born this afternoon. Two more ewes to go but already our herd has doubled .
