24.01.2022 The unit during manufacture.

21.01.2022 This is a 660mm bore cylinder on our cylinder bench for repair. We do not have to send this type of work to Bundaberg, Brisbane or Newcastle, we are capable of doing these repairs in Gladstone. See www.hydraulicsolution.com

21.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago the post was about an excavator with a bent cylinder rod on the thumb cylinder. We repaired the cylinder and then examined the hydraulic circuit for this cylinder and the reason for the failure became obvious. we designed and proposed a revision to the circuit and after the customers approval, we installed this valving to the back of the boom. The valving is designed to protect the cylinder if the thumb is accidently crashed into the ground or anoth...er object. (This is most likely what caused the first failure.) "The bucket and or the thumb cylinder cannot push against each other at full machine pressure. The bucket circuit has full pressure so as the machine can work as an excavator as designed, the thumb is reduced pressure. The bucket can push the thumb cylinder in retraction, the thumb cannot push the bucket cylinder." The happy customer has now operated the excavator for a couple of weeks and is very unlikely to experience the same failure again.

14.01.2022 This is a bucket cylinder from a 13t excavator used in garbage recycling. The bucket has a gate that can be used to hold garbage in the bucket or grab garbage that is too big for the bucket. Under certain conditions the bucket cylinder can be overloaded causing an excess column load on the rod and buckling / bending as can be seen from the original rod in the photo. With the cylinder being hidden by the boom the operator tried to retract the cylinder, damaging the head gland ...in the process. New parts were unavailable from the dealer with a long lead time ex overseas supply. Repairs consisted of honing the barrel to remove a score line, machine a new head-gland, machine a new rod and weld to the original boss, new seal kit. This work was turned around in a few days with the machine back to work sorting garbage. See more

13.01.2022 It is estimated that if $100 is spent at a locally owned business, $68 of that is returned to the local community. That sounds like something Gladstone needs at the moment! Take a look at our updated webpage about our contribution to the local community. http://hydraulicsolution.com/about/community/ Shop locally and build the community!

07.01.2022 Our customer has a problem with water contamination of the oil in a gearbox which is below the waterline of their tugboat. They would like to delay the repair to the next scheduled maintenance in the dry dock and approached Hydraulic solutions for a solution. Part of the solution we proposed was this off-line filtration unit which was designed and purpose-built for them. The frame was designed to fit through the access hatch (600mm square). It was designed to scrub oil at ...65 liters per minute. The unit accepts spin on filter canisters which are capable of a range of applications. In its first job it will remove water from the oil at a rate of 400ml per canister. Other cartridge options include a range right down to 4.5 microns at 1000 beta. The unit has 2 x 2 cartridge banks for maximum application flexibility and so that cartridges can be changes without stopping the unit. The unit can also be used to transfer oil. See more
