04.01.2022 Sometimes art is appreciated for its beauty, and sometimes it’s appreciated for its emotional power. I’ve tried many times to make wind chimes. While they might have been beautiful, the chime wasn’t all that impressive or pleasing. This last year as part of my spiritual journey, I was encouraged to write on a terracotta pot the, names or words that I have taken on as part of my self or my identity. After owning those words and writing them on the pot, I then felt impres...sed to break the pot as a symbol of my spiritual growth beyond the boundaries of those words in the last season of my life. Breaking the pot was symbolic for the liberation I have experienced and the gift of spiritual growth by transformation I have been given. As a way to close up this last season of my spiritual journey I decided to make wind chimes with the remains of the pot. To my surprise, the sound of the wind chime is unexpectedly one of the most beautiful chimes I’ve ever heard. What a gift. See more
