23.01.2022 Leg Spin - You cannot fire a cannon out of a canoe! If our athlete cannot find balance on his back leg, he cannot then push with control through his crease. USE YOUR BASE. The common mistake is that bowlers fall into their action and do not push off their back leg. The solution to this is to build general and specific strength and also focus on pushing off your back leg towards your target. Doing this will take stress off your shoulder. We lightly touch on using weighted balls which we will go into depth in another post however by using these balls, we build special strength in the shoulder then letting athletes focus on being slower through the shoulder and fast through the fingers. A strange yet successful method used with our athletes!

10.01.2022 Another great session with Trent last night, testing out what we have been working on over the last few weeks on power hitting. We had to feed full tosses as the machine couldn't pick up the ball bouncing however with the little pace we had out of the machine, we were able to produce some good numbers. From a testing point of view, it is great to have this sort of data and then retest in the near future to measure improvement but overall, having these numbers is instant feedb...ack which helps us figure out what we are doing wrong and how to fix it. We can take these numbers, play around with our rhythm and when we are producing consistent numbers we can stick with that rhythm. The numbers we were seeing were exit velocity, distance, spin rate, launch angle and direction. One person missing in this video is Nick Larkin in which we will upload separately including interesting dialogue between him and Trent. In addition, Jake represented Australia in the under 19 world cup and still has another year left to play under 19's. Crazy.

For Ronak, he squares his front foot and closes his hips towards square leg when delivering which means his weight and momentum is going down leg. For his wrong-un to be accurate and consistent, he needs to have his momentum going towards his target. Probably the greatest feeling is deceiving a batsman with a wrong-un and cleaning him up like the last clip

We are big fans of practicing the short ball with tennis balls to gain confidence at pace however we noticed because of the weight of tennis balls, they tend to die through and lose a lot of pace. So we placed tarp down half way and covered it with soap. The results were great. We would 100% recommend trying it! How good is the carry on some of these? Also can tell how religious I am with how many times I say "Jesus Christ"
01.01.2022 GREAT DRILL! Tag a mate who can't play spin! Here we had a crack at simulating some rough on the wicket. Again, training for every situation means you shouldn’t have a reason to not have a game plan. We scattered some dirt and rocks on a length just outside off stump and went for it. We were able to get some crazy bounce and deviation from the rough.
01.01.2022 Pain in your elbow and forearm? Especially while batting or throwing? The elbow is a very common site of pain but it hardly ever will be the cause of the issue. The shoulder needs to move freely to stop the elbow and wrist from overloading! This is a simple exercise to build your shoulder and wrist control, thereby reducing load into your elbow, as well as strengthening your forearms into a stretched range For athletes such as cricketers, it will also be import...ant to build this up and incorporate it into your sport’s patterns, which may include more specific exercises, or just using this as a warmup for your training/playing! Keys to this will be: focus on moving the shoulder before wrist and hand, and move it to the ends of range keep your elbow straight and have the pits of your elbow facing the ceiling once fully pushed away from the shoulder, curl through your fingers to push yourself further and use the muscles of your hand/forearm can be single or double arm, move hand further down to challenge your wrist more!
