25.01.2022 THERE IS A BETTER LIFE WAITING FOR YOU You just need to choose it. I remember feeling like I would never operate a successful business and that maybe I should go back to working full-time.... While I knew owning and operating HYPE was my dream come true, the bills and living expenses were stacking up. But I am so glad that I didn’t because now, I'm making more than my full time salary while funding the growth of my business, I get to choose the inspiring business owners I have the privilege of working with and I can provide the considered counsel and creative direction that I've always known I'm capable of. Something I never thought would come so quickly. I didn’t think I could truly achieve operating a successful business in such a short amount of time. I tell you this because I want you to realise I have been where you are. I used to feel the same way I just finally decided I’d had enough. I was ready to believe in myself. I was ready to back myself. And I was ready to stop listening to the voice in my head and the voices of concerned family members and friends who told me how hard operating a business can be. I was ready for change. Are you ready?

22.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers out there Thank you for all the sacrifices, tears, early mornings and love that have contributed to crafting us into the people we are today

18.01.2022 We often compare ourselves to people who have been working for years to get to where they are today. Stop it! The others with the overnight success or immediate results have been at this longer than you have.... They have had more time to grow and build. Take your business one step at a time and do what you can with what you have, right now.

17.01.2022 Happy Easter We hope you’re spending the day with your loved ones, whether it’s in-person or virtually. Stay safe and healthy.... Image via @forestway_fresh See more

16.01.2022 Another great win for our client Vision Personal Training Did you catch the segment on 7NEWS Melbourne this evening?

15.01.2022 Here's a great quote! I realised I am very fearful of failure - and that I actually don't "fail" that often, meaning I'm not nearly taking enough risks! I hope this inspires you like it did me ... Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it. So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success. Thomas J. Watson

14.01.2022 As we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I'm reflecting on the time spent self-isolating and feel tremendous gratitude for the opportunity to slow down and prioritise activities that I usually tell myself I'm 'too busy' for. I find myself going outside just simply to be outside, rather than fuelling this need to fill my day with errands and box ticking activities. On top of enjoying the simple act of being present in nature, I've also enjoyed consumi...ng various podcasts and TV shows (favourite books are coming in a post later this week ). Here's a list of some of my favourites: Under The Skin with Russell Brand, particularly episode #130 Create Yourself (with Elizabeth Gilbert) Unlocking Us Brene Brown, I loved the episode titled 'Brené on Anxiety, Calm + Over/Under-Functioning' After Work Drinks Podcast TED Talks Daily Limetown on Facebook Watch Unorthodox on Netflix What have you loved the most about slowing down?

13.01.2022 Great coverage achieved for our client Vision Personal Training I love being a part of sharing the incredible transformations Vision clients make with the support of their PT and wider Vision community. Vision's proven weight loss methodolgy works for everyone willing to put the work in

11.01.2022 Spending this weekend dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s alongside hubby @kellysplumbinganddrainage ahead of #taxtime We’re both somewhat guilty of over-investing the time we spend working ‘in’ our businesses opposed to ‘on’ them. I like to interpret this as a sign that we both love what we do opposed to admitting we prioritise anything and everything ahead of crunching numbers ... In all honesty, I’m actually enjoying using the left side of my brain for a change! It’s also great to set financial goals and projections for FY2020-21 particularly after an interesting few months. 11.01.2022 Last week I was in full blown issues management mode, navigating a client through some pretty ugly claims made about their business. In a perfect world, your business will never stray from the core values and mission it was founded on. In the real world, particularly when businesses are in the ‘scale up’ phase, processes can regrettably slip through the cracks. If customers and the media pick up on this before your processes are back in tip top shape, you may find yourself in... hot water. So what do you if this happens? Avoid the call to act fast and instead lean into the ‘5 C’s of Crisis Communications: Competence Credibility Commitment Caring Capability Ensure your communications to stakeholders, customers and the media is tailored accordingly and encompasses all 5 considerations. Unfortunately, many organisations choose to shy away from saying anything in trying times. My counsel more often than not; Join the conversation and address the issue at hand and Then, discuss the processes you have in place to ensure the mistake won't be repeated Then the toughest part -- follow through. Doing so proves you genuinely care and that alone can restore faith among consumers. As Covey's quote alludes to, you really do need to behave your way out of a bad reputation. Historically, we’ve seen that people respond well to brands who admit to mistakes, detail what went wrong and reiterate their commitment to the community they’ve created moving forward. While it’s in our nature to stop trusting a person or brand who has seemingly done the wrong thing and shown no remorse, it too is in our nature to offer forgiveness when asked, true remorse is shown and action that reiterates good behaviour moving forward is demonstrated. #crisiscommunications #crisiscomms #publicrelations #publicaffairs #corporatecommunications #reputationmanagement #reputationmanagementmarketing

07.01.2022 PR tip Whether your goal is to lift brand awareness with a few PR clips or become a thoughtleader in your sector, staying up to date with what's trending in the newscycle is paramount to achieving your media relations objectives. Start by scanning the mainstream media for stories and segments that discuss topics and issues that concern your sector and stay up to date with what's trending in trade publications that are relevant to your business.... Once you've done this for a while and are across the journalists and publications that write about issues relevant to you, reach out to them to let them know what you liked about their story, along with your/your brands unique point of view on the topic. The upside of having a publicist, is they do this hard work for you As a PR professional, a crucial part of my role is building relationships with media contacts who produce content relevant to all my clients. I'm constantly scouring the news and reaching out to journalists, providing feedback on their recent pieces, as well as offering the unique point of view that my client has and can offer on the issue at hand, or a similar one. The benefits of this are extremely fruitful, and include: Results in additional coverage for my client if the journalist is interested in doing a follow up piece focusing on their unique viewpoint Strengthens my relationship with said journalist and builds credibility and awareness for my clients with people who can literally reach thousands of my client’s potential customers Leads to journalists contacting me asking for my client’s comments on a particular issue they’re seeking expert commentary on for an upcoming editorial Journalists are more receptive to story pitches. As I’ve put in the work to build a respectful relationship and take the time each day to keep across their work, journalists are more likely to consider my pitches I am familiar with their areas of interest, the style in which they produce content and can therefore create really tailored pitches that will hit the mark If you're looking for a communications professional to manage your public relations, or have any questions, get in touch with me: [email protected]. #pr #prlife #pragency #publicrelations #publicrelationsagency #publicist #mediarelations #pragencysydney #agencylife #brandreputation #brandawareness #brandcredibility #communications #communicationsprofessional #media #brandstorytelling #prsydney #publicrelationssydney

06.01.2022 Connectedness this theme has been front of mind for me lately. As a communications professional, my key objective is to create and nurture connections. During a time where self-isolation and social distancing are being encouraged, it’s more important than ever to ensure every member of our business community feels valued and part of something. We like to joke that the dream is to sustain ourselves financially without going to work; when it reality, work is a place we rely ...on for mental and social stimulation. For the sake of psychological and social well-being, businesses must create internal communication processes to keep their employees feeling connected. Similarly, businesses must maintain external communications to stay connected with all stakeholders over the next few months where we’ll be spending more time at home than ever. I’ve been working closely with my clients lately to map out the right content to share to their teams and customers. It would be tone deaf to not acknowledge the current situation and ‘too much’ to talk exclusively about COVID-19. So how do you strike the perfect balance? If you’re looking for support to manage your internal and/or external comms including a strategic content plan tailored to your business, get in touch with me at [email protected]

04.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day An equal world is an enabled world! As we celebrate #IWD, let’s reflect on what it means to be responsible for our own thoughts and actions all day, every day.... When we do this, we’re collectively creating a gender equal world through challenging stereotypes, fighting biases, broadening perceptions, improving situations and celebrating women’s achievements. Let’s all be #EachforEqual. I’m pictured here with my go to graphic designer and photographer @teeganpackcreative who just so happens to be my bestie.
