13.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone! HyperVision is back for 2020 with some changes. See below for the full statement. Entries open now from http://www.hyperfest.com.au/HYPERVISION HyperVision is a youth art exhibition and competition created and run by the Hyper Team in the City of Swan. Each year we invite artists to submit work across photography, sculpture, traditional media, fashion/jewellery, short film, and experimental categories for a chance to win amazing prizes and be exhibite...d at Midland Junction Arts Centre. This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are looking to do things a little differently. HyperVision: Self will be an open-round submission until we have a confirmed exhibition date at Midland Junction Arts Centre. Due to the nature of this pandemic, we are uncertain whether we will be able to hold an exhibition at all in 2020, or whether we'll be able to attract sponsors for prizes etc. In the meantime, we would still love to showcase some entries as they are submitted, on social media - you can elect to give us permission to do this (or not) in your submission. HyperVision: Self asks artists to submit works that discuss, display and explore the concept of 'self'. Are we who we seem to be from the outside? What have you learned in self-isolation? How do you see yourself now, and where do you see yourself in the future? Short films must be under 5 minutes and respond to the 'Self' theme. Please link to your video in your artwork description and provide a thumbnail or title screen as the attachment. Any WA resident aged between 12 and 25 who would like their artwork exhibited at HyperVision and/or shared on social media is encouraged to apply now. Finalist artwork MAY be exhibited at Midland Junction Arts Centre at a time TBC. There MAY be major prizes awarded for each category TBC. To apply please submit an application using this online form and a scanned image or photograph of your artwork. Please do not send your artwork to the City of Swan at this point. For more information on the exhibition, art workshops or submitting your work for display at the exhibition, visit www.hyperfest.com.au or www.facebook.com/hypervision or contact Simon O'Leary on 0409 895 251 or [email protected]

I look forward to seeing what will be inspired through this year’s theme.
