24.01.2022 Sometimes your baby may need a little bit of help to enter the outside world, in the form of a couple of breaths, or some gentle suctioning of fluids that can be done by mouth or bulb syringe. Some babies may need more help than others, but sometimes just giving bub some time and these simple nudges will do the job, not to mention lots of cuddles and TLC! Thank you for the photo and inspiration @birthinstincts

24.01.2022 Such a powerful image thanks to @with_leanna She writes: He knows. He knows what to do, because they have been preparing together for this moment. He knows where to touch, what to say, where to hold. ... He understands her body and what their baby is doing each moment of this divine process. He does not fear The Dad or birth companion are there to support the mother, guide her through labour with his voice and his touch, will have knowledge and tools on how to stay calm and how to make her comfortable. HypnoBirthing classes teach exactly this. Head to our website to find an educator near you.

24.01.2022 "Birth is an opportunity to transcend, to rise above what we are accustomed to, reach deeper inside ourselves than we are familiar with." - Marcie Macari. When you commit to HypnoBirthing you begin a journey to discover the strength you have within yourself and with your partner. ... @chloeszep @mitchellorval

24.01.2022 Charlotte Hogarth from Benefiting Birth and Beyond is a midwife as well as a HypnoBirthing educator based in Bellbowire, QLD. She writes on her own birth experience: As I continued using my HypnoBirthing tracks and techniques, it was time to give the midwife an update! By the time she spoke to my mum while I was in the shower, she could hear it was time to get here. I moved into my birth space feeling calm, comfortable and completely in control. As a midwife and mother of 2 a...lready, I was excited to use the HypnoBirthing techniques I had taught so much to other women for myself. I had seen the wonderful effects on women, their babies, their partners and supports in birth suites, but this was me and my experience. To cut a long story short, HypnoBirthing did not change my birth in a major way, having 2 previous intervention free births, my body and mind had a big head start. What HypnoBirthing changed was my pregnancy, I bonded with my baby, I was honest with myself and worked through fears, previous trauma. I was honest and open with my partner and involved him and our children in our birth preparation. HypnoBirthing also meant that postnatally when I had 3 children under 5, no permanent housing and a husband who had to leave for work, I was calm and confident in my ability to parent as well as I possible. HypnoBirthing for me is pregnancy, birth and beyond preparation. It is NOT having an intervention free water birth, it is being informed, powerful and owning your journey. 24.01.2022 Only 4% of babies will be born ON their due date. 75% will be born AFTER. The average time for a first time mum to give birth is 41 weeks and 3 days and for subsequent births - 40 weeks and 6 days. So why is the focus so heavily on these 40 weeks! Those last few weeks can be exhausting and mentally challenging but our first lesson in learning how to surrender begins here.

11.01.2022 Your bath water may not look as beautiful as this during and after labour, but the experience can be as beautiful as it looks

11.01.2022 The face of pure joy. "She envisioned her birth story while relaxing in the bath every day of the pregnancy. Picturing a calm, safe space, bringing her baby up from the water and into her arms. And that's just what she did. The power of affirmation and visualization is great." @lindsey_eden_photography

11.01.2022 A doula can use a flat hand to stroke the clients back, arms, and legs or massage lightly using their fingertips, this helps alleviate tension in other parts of the mother's body and helps to calm them. A touch from their partner can also be extremely powerful as it releases endorphins and oxytocin (the love hormone), helping the mother to relax and to feel supported as they can feel that they aren't alone.

10.01.2022 Does HypnoBirthing work? You may have heard of what HypnoBirths are supposed to look like. Words like, 'pain-free', 'perfect', 'silent', and 'meditave' are often used. However, HypnoBirthing is not about how quiet or loud you are. It is not about whether you have a natural or an assisted birth. Whether you loved every minute and feel the power of each surge moving through your body or if you yell "gimme an epidural!". ... A person in labour using HyponBirthing can breathe through like a lioness, feeling every sensation with acute intensity, or they can internalize their energy and birth peacefully in the corner. All experiences are valid. HypnoBirthing is a mindset above all else

10.01.2022 What is HypnoBirthing? HypnoBirthing teaches you the physiology of birth (how the birthing body is designed to work) and the psychology of birth (how your mind triggers the production of hormones that can either help or hinder birth). We are for ALL births! Regardless of how you are planning to birth your baby, the techniques will benefit you, your birth partner, and your baby

10.01.2022 Turning a Breech Baby A Breech Baby is when bub doesn't start to direct their head downwards around 32-37 weeks. There a few techniques designed to help 'turn' your baby such as The Webster Technique, Acupuncture & Moxibustion, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and there are organizations like @spinningbabies that can provide activities to help improve the position of your bub. ... However, not all babies turn. 3-4% of babies remain persistently up-right at term. We have to remember that this is the baby’s birth and sometimes they know best. Read more about these techniques on our blog.

09.01.2022 Not long now Mama! Our HypnoBirthing International Program is based of factual evidence, to guide you and your partner towards a more positive birth experience. The Mongan Method will teach you that without fear and tension, severe pain does not need to be a part of labour. Labour is indeed powerful and intense; you will learn how it can be an incredibly empowering experience and some mothers report that their birth was ecstatic!!... 09.01.2022 Meet Brooke, one of our HypnoBirthing educators in Toowoomba, QLD. Brooke writes: "I am a mother, wife, HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator, Kinesiologist, Reiki Practitioner, Birth Story, Listener and mostly known as Brooke, the birth junkie. All of this comes together in the heart-centered and soul-driven work I do in fertility, pregnancy, birth, birth trauma, and loss. So let's cut straight to it... I get it. I know first hand the excitement and perhaps also not, of being ...pregnant, the multitude of rushing emotions, and the crippling anxiety that may bring. I get it! It's all new. Whether it's your first, second, third, fourth (go you!), healing from a traumatic birth, or that long-awaited rainbow baby. So, I find myself here with gorgeous couples on the most amazing journeys, helping create their own authentic experience. What I have learned is that showing up, being informed, and having the tools for whatever path your birthing takes you on is an absolute necessity - NOT a luxury. I am a lighthouse of hope, supporter, challenger, motivator, educator, safety, and living proof that positive birth does exist, regardless of the journey. I celebrate your successes, challenge your beliefs, and honour your experience. I stand here with complete conviction and know there is a positive way to birth and am constantly reminded of this when I hear families say "let's do that again!". 07.01.2022 Michelle Clift - Educator, Doula & Business Coach is one of our educators and Doula's in Melbourne. She writes: "My name is Michelle Clift and Im a HypnoBirthing Educator, Birth Doula and Birth Business Coach from Melbourne, Australia. My story starts in the early 80s when my progressive parents tried to find a hypnotherapist to support them during my birth as my mum already knew about the power of hypnosis. Unfortunately, they couldnt find anyone who was up for being on ...call and being at a birth for an indeterminate amount of time but my mum did have an amazing 6 hour labour with me. I used HypnoBirthing techniques with the birth of both my babies, now 7.5 and 5 years old. I did have very different experiences with those births and it was my 2nd labour that truly transformed and inspired me to work in the birth world.I completed my training in early 2016, have taught over 350 couples and supported at over 30 births. I think my most memorable birth stories are the babies who come unexpectedly at home or in cars. To me, its just the absolute epitome of how birth can just work. The awe and wonder from these couples when they recount their story is just magic. Another standout birth was my sister birthing my nephew. It was a posterior labour over several days with nearly every intervention under the sun. She came out of that labour extremely positive, empowered, and saying that she loved her labour! To me that was a turning point when I realised that every single birth has the potential to be positive when youre educated, supported, and hold on to your decision making power. Head to Michelle's website to learn more!

07.01.2022 HypnoBirthing International classes arent just for the baby mama, theyre for partners too so that they can empower you and support you through this amazing experience. Head to our website to find a HypnoBirthing Educator near you.

07.01.2022 The power of your birth team Partners may underestimate the importance of their role towards a peaceful birth experience. The energy they provide can be calming and their touch can release endorphins, assisting the mother to relax and breathe through the motions of their labour. Most importantly, they can advocate for mum and baby to ensure that birth is not being intervened with unnecessarily. To do this, partners need to be informed and know the questions they can ask your care provider to navigate the best outcome. We'd love to hear if you or your partner used what you learnt in HB to advocate for yourselves to change the direction of the birth?

06.01.2022 We adore our HypnoBirthing Dads! You may underestimate the importance of your partners strength, guidance and touch through the labour process. They may just be your saving grace.

05.01.2022 Donna is one of our educators and doulas located in Concord, NSW. We asked Donna a few questions: Why do you teach HypnoBirthing?... I am so passionate about helping birthing parents find their voice and their strength in knowing they are the decision makers of their birth no matter which way their birth may take. I know first-hand the importance of your experience of birth. Its something that will resonate through the rest of your life. HypnoBirthing International is a program which provides up to date factual information on how to have a calm, relaxed and safe birth. All my pregnant couples love this program and that makes me so happy! What inspires you? Seeing couples in the very first session feeling anxious and worried compared to session 5 feeling relaxed, totally calm and in control of their thoughts regarding birth. Pregnancy is such an unknown time for a couple and to come from a place of knowledge and understanding of how birth works, knowing your body and your babys role in birth compared to myths and misconceptions from social media I feel like my job as a HypnoBirthing Educator is the most rewarding role in the world to be able to help couples make those changes within themselves. Head to Donnas page or go through to our website to book your class

05.01.2022 The Dream Birth of Little River - A Hospital Birth in Water During COVID-19 As soon as I was in the tub, my body went into full primal mode, and I can only remember the feeling of breathing down whilst playing the HypnoBirthing affirmations in the background and Ricky’s voice in the distance coaching me to keep doing J-Breaths. I was using gas at this stage to help take the edge off and to get an easier rhythm for breathing. My midwife placed a mirror in the water and when I saw the head starting to crown. I felt such a rush of endorphins and motivation that I went a little hard & fast on the bearing down and instinctively included some pushing just following my body's lead. 05.01.2022 The important role that your partner gets to play We want to know, after your birth did you wait 1-3 minutes before cutting the umbilical cord (optimal cord clamping), did you cut the cord straight away? There are many studies that highlight the benefits of optimal cord clamping such as increasing your babys intake of iron and haemoglobin, as well as giving your baby time to adjust their breathing and heart rate in their new environment.... 05.01.2022 Look at this fresh bub This white coating is called the Vernix Caseosa and it protects your precious bubs' fragile skin from amniotic fluid. The Vernix typically shows around Week 19 of pregnancy and can thicken until week 34, then the coating starts to fall into the amniotic fluid itself. The Vernix is mostly gone by week 40 of pregnancy, but if your little one is a bit early they may be coated like this bub. The Vernix's greasy and oily texture can also serve as a natural... lubricant to minimise friction during birth and it gets coated in mums microbiome during birth (so don't wipe it off, massage it in)! Just another amazing thing that our bodies can create @2lifedoula

04.01.2022 Why do women need to be induced? In HypnoBirthing we always recommend a spontaneous start to labour when the mother and baby are healthy. But, almost a third of all women are induced because health concerns can arise and it becomes safer for the baby to be born. This may be hard to process if you've prepared with HypnoBirthing, but this is when you need to embrace the affirmation; "I accept any turn my birth takes'.... 02.01.2022 Methods to produce endorphins for more comfort: Movement - choose your position or move with what feels right for you and your natural birthing instincts. Massage and Counter Pressure - Massage is a great form of distraction as it can create a sensation in a different part of the body, and counter-pressure is a great way to aid pressure on the opposing side of the body. Water Immersion - A warm shower or bath can help to release tight muscles, conserve energy, lowers bl...ood pressure, and increases comfort and mobility. Relaxation and Visualisation: Remember to breathe and use the techniques you have learned to assist you to stay in the healing room. Acupressure: A popular option of applying pressure to sacral points on the body. Acupressure helps to ground you, release endorphins, augment labour, and give lots of relief from intense sensations. Have you used any of these methods?

01.01.2022 Introducing Candace Borg Vegan Naturopath, Fertility Educator, HypnoBirth Practitioner! Candace is on our leadership team in Australia, she's based in Melbourne and supports all Victorian Educators. Candace is a Vegan Naturopath, Natural Fertility Educator, HypnoBirthing Educator, and BioMedical Scientist. She holds degrees in both Biomedical Science and Health Science (Naturopathy). It is her mission to support and guide individuals on their health journey by addressing both... simple and more complex health issues to obtain the best possible health outcomes. Candace is also the owner of Northcote Natural Therapies, One Leaf At A Time organic teas, Melbourne HypnoBirthing, and Purely Vegan, which is her natural and palm oil-free skincare company. We asked Candace about her favourite birthing story: "It would have to be the first birth I attended. It was my best friend and she invited me to do the HypnoBirthing course with her as I was to be her birthing partner. To be honest, I didnt know what to expect with the course but was blown away with the depth and the knowledge I gained from it (and a few years later, I became an Educator). This first birth did not necessarily go 'as planned with a medical induction and a bubba who wanted to be birthed while high fiving' us, but it certainly was magical. As this bub came out, right beside me (almost against my leg), I knew it would be a memory I would hold close to my heart forever. Head to our website to contact Candace!
